  1. Neat! It’s just a company dealers use a lot on older vehicles to get discontinued parts from if they have it
  2. That truck is in the same town as the vintage parts inc warehouse.
  3. I'm sure it wasn't common at all or dealers went ahead and put a bumper on anyways to turn a profit. Turns out that those lamps were also used on the XJs with the spare tire carrier and there are still some of those lamps still available if someone wanted to do bumper delete.
  4. No problem. I noticed looking at your tailgate pic that your truck was once bumper delete. That little black thing just under the "P" is the license plate lamp.
  5. Glad you rescued them. I snagged a few vintage late 70's and early 80's books for Dodges that were going to be tossed and did the same as you.
  6. Nice! I wasn't quite sure which ones you owned.
  7. Lol. I have had a couple folks approach me at the gas station about LR. Told them not for sale. I knew they would use it as a work truck and take it down to Mexico. A discount tire employee asked me once if I was selling and told him I had too much time and money invested to sell. He probably just wanted a Jeep. That note reads like one one of those staked into the ground signs that says “I buy houses in any condition”.
  8. Thank you and I really appreciate that! But I can't leave out the fact JMO helped me with the registry as well, it wasn't all me, I just spearheaded the idea. JMO if you see this I thank you for you help. Took me a little bit to remember to thank you as well. I just got a little caught up in this.
  9. This forum is active everyday. Maybe no activity for a few hours at a time but its pretty active. But JMO is probably right. Theres probably a short somewhere that's still giving you power where there shouldn't be power.
  10. Thank you guys again! I am glad all of you enjoy reading my build and watching the progression over the year. I still regret not joining and posting up from when I first got her. Lol, sometimes its the bad kind of crazy, guys at work give me crap for being an AMC fan but they do like seeing her everyday in her stock fashion. Couple of techs remember working at AMC dealers which is cool! It was nice meeting you the other day as well! I look forward to future meet ups with you and pirate hopefully at that car show we spoke about! And thank you, I still haven't sat down and got that plate installed yet but I will soon!
  11. No problem, also as we try to point out, not everything about the build sheet is accurate. Chrysler recycles codes for others things on newer vehicles.
  12. How much do yall want to bet that Mitt Romney's family has it from when his father ran AMC?
  13. I think I found the first MJ VIN once and I thought I recorded it here. I know for '86 VIN 000001 is an SJ. I think 20 or 30 is an MJ. I could goof around later and find it if we are all curious.
  14. Thank you guys. Its been hell of a journey and a learning experience! From sitting in a back yard rotting away and being beat up to how I would have custom ordered her from an AMC dealer. If it wasn't for this club, I don't know where she would be now. Maybe not running. I think Pete said once that you are truly never finished with these trucks and he is right, there are still more things for me to do and add. I enjoy aiding in the knowledge and locating NOS parts for y'all, its pretty exciting and fun hunting down those parts. Have a great holiday season everyone! Stay tuned for the Pioneer decals!
  15. I found it. Putting it here for my future reference when I figure out why some of my front end is a tad bit tweaked.
  16. As Pete always says, "welcome to the addiction and madness!"

  20. I will have to go hunt it down.
  21. Yup, I have every factory piece I need to install them. Looks like what I just need to do is take on of those drill saws and just cut a circle out on the air dam.
  22. Actually the VIN won't say which package you have. JMO posted what each digit means from his parts catalogue, I think he has 89-?. I need to post what the 86-88 digits mean as I have those old catalogues.
  23. What was said about such as to paraphrase what I remember from what Pete said is that it came with the program they use for the site.
  24. I think there's a NOS pump left but for how much it costs you do not want it. But yes Bosch was the OEM supplier
  25. Pretty much it looks like it needs to be an inch longer than the non hook opening. Ok. I think I can figure out how to do that. Thanks fiat!
