Eh light surface rust can easily come off. That's neat though! -

No fuel injector pulse

Theres a test on Cruisers website that shows you how to test it with a multimeter. I believe you test for AC and its at .2 or something like that, it is bad. You can test for spark by pulling a plug out and keep it attached to the wire at the rotor and put the plug against the block and look for a blue spark from the plug while someone cranks over the engine. Also you can pull off the inlet line and see if fuel comes out. Sometimes the hose inside the tank can be loose and pop off or have holes in it causing little to no pressure. -
Huh. Had no idea it played a roll in that. Noted

ALM probably was once a package during the Chrysler era but changed with time. The speedo would be off if the tire size increased. Not the gearing. It could've had a slider and it probably broke all they could afford was a solid when it was still around.

Have you tested the CPS? Are you getting spark? Does the fuel pump prime and do you hear it? -

Nos running board hardware
eaglescout526 replied to strictlyxjs's topic in Craigslist/Marketplace/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Mannn, where was that when I got my NOS running boards? Lol. that's a nice find. -
Working at a dealer has its benefits and I love it. I had my brakes checked out for a spongy feel(by a former AMC tech who does brakes and steering) and it turns out my young dumb butt put the drum shoes on backwards the second time but did it right the first time. Live and learn. While at it she got her drums trimmed up and was recommended to replace the now leaking 30 year old wheel cylinders. I could rebuild them but I will determine that when I get the new ones installed. But this weekend will be tow hooks

Question about wiper fuse
eaglescout526 replied to Richard 91's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes. -
I know both as I've been there so much. They know their Jeeps and that's what makes them great to make trips to on my lunch.

Parking Brake switch
eaglescout526 replied to hakukamana's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You could try looking at GM trucks but my best guess is the parking brake is an AMC built set up and not a GM. If it was a GM truck I'm sure someone would have piped up and said something by now. Whats wrong with the switch currently? -
Yup both her and Bob.

Merry Christmas from the surface of the sun!!(That's cold right now)

Nice score!

Looks great! Need a shift boot bezel retainer or is the console broke?
-
Well I got off work early but due to the dastardly rain, I wanted to start the tow hooks but can't. So I made use of my time and rebuilt a couple ratchets that have taken a toll from working on LR. Nice to have rebuilt ratchets, not fun to rebuild.

amc 150 TBI question...
eaglescout526 replied to omega_rugal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Did you put a 2.5L Throttle body....on a 4.0L intake manifold? Doesn't matter. It won't run. You would need a 2.5L wiring harness and computer to run the TBI injector and it might run but seriously doubt it would handle any load. Might die as soon as you turn on the AC. -
College Budget 1987 MJ Build
eaglescout526 replied to SatiricalHen's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
To be fair I was scared to do the cargo light and then I said "hell with it, I paid for it and I'm gonna install it!" I don't regret my choice. As far as leaks, RTV on the gasket to the body worked great. -

Trust me. It is very very tempting and only being allowed to have one car right now sucks. Unless other members of my family would let me store it. But the hunt for those parts would be very fun. I haven't looked into the diesel parts portion of the catalogue yet. -

I don’t blame the vendors pricing like that though because those will be special special order parts. -
1990 Jeep Comanche sport, randomly won’t start
eaglescout526 replied to 90manche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The CPS? There’s only one way to change it. You have to unbolt the two bolts holding the sensor in place on the drivers side of the bell house and then unplug it from the engine side. Be careful not to drop the bolts down into the housing. A decent length extension and an 11mm socket should take the bolts out. -

Sounds like CPS. Cruise has testing procedures on this to root out a bad CPS -

I thought he had trouble trying to get parts as in most were across the pond.
