Left headlights on a few times. Dead Batt
eaglescout526 replied to Manche757's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You can buy the switch new but not the little clip that is used to put pressure on the switch. Course for being a GM column you would think delco would be producing them. But it just means you will never hear the buzzer come on from that area ever again. You can swap in a blue one and still have the seatbelt and lights on buzzer. Just no key in buzzer. -

No problem. I don't know why its such a problem child. I even put in a new lock cylinder and it still doesn't work. I have ultimately given up on the "key in the ignition buzzer". -

That switch is in the column. That’s the one I would love to have work properly but it’s the switch I was saying seems to be a science to work right as when I have installed it from time to time it will do the same exact issue you currently have with the buzzer. -
Have you seen some of the epic threads? Theres diesel swaps there that aren't the Renault 2.1L
-
Yeah there’s like really funky oval-tangular plugs but otherwise all are just simple circles. I’ll have to check that link out.

Sounds like something is wrong with the key buzzer. I would love to have my key buzzer fixed and working as it should but it seems like a science to figure it out. Most guys will tell you to rip the buzzer out. -
Good chunk of them went up as far as 2010 but are discontinued but most if not all the body plugs are the same from 84-01
-
See that was my first thought but here in AZ anything that is a small rubber like plastic dries up and so pulling something like that from a 30 year old vehicle is bound to crumble at just a simple poke.
-
Has anyone found a kit or perhaps just replacements for the body plugs? I don't have any of the plugs for the doors and would like to know what any of you guys have done to replace any.

You will get to see the pics first before I post them. Its fitting to my username and for a Jeep! Course its a limited run plate, haven't seen many since I've been out of scouts.

I will have to go look at the write up again and see what all I need to do to add the plate. That doesn't look bad. Looks pretty straight forward and just weld it in place of the old hinge.
-
It looks like that only the top of the hinge meaning the weld and all is separating from the body.
-
I will have to do that.
-
You're right Jeep Driver, I shouldn't be doing such. But like everyone else I'm cheap but willing to learn and not let anyone I don't trust touch my truck. But if you see, the new hinge is much more open in design than the old solid ones.

That’s what I think but I’m baffled as Chrysler’s instructions are incredibly vague.

I will now post pictures. I planned on doing so a little bit later but I have time now. Hinge and instructions. Note it’s open design.

89 4x4 Conversion And AX15 Swap HELP
eaglescout526 replied to Killernoise's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hate to really jump in on this but y’all caught me at the trans crossmember. According to the catalog, the 2.5L’s trans, AW4 and the BA use the same crossmember. As stated above the AX15 does indeed use a newer “type 2” crossmember as it is dubbed in the catalog. Just wanted to make that known. Have fun! -
Noop. Buuuutt we could say he does since it is lifted.

Excellent question. There’s me and another member who live up here in the east side that I’ve met. There’s others but i don't know if they are active anymore. There’s a couple members close to you in chandler and south mountain areas and there’s a couple in Tucson. -

Nice! Where at in AZ? There’s a few of us here and we are always interested in gettin together and hanging out. -
Big C clamp and a socket is what I would use and press it on. And put some grease on the bolt or stud to help with sliding it on.
