  1. Well she needs another coat of paint. Now the surface is completely smooth. I went and wet sanded all the bumpy bits of paint with 1000 grit. But I still like the job none the less. She should look better with a new coat and a good buffer. Here's a better pic. I still need to do the tail gate.
  2. Yeah but I was just sharing what I ended up having to do to not mess up the flares so much while sanding. Wet sanding went a long ways to not leave a mark on the plastic itself.
  3. 500 grit wet sanding on the flares Pete. Use an electric sander. In rough case a very light touch with 100 grit to get paint off to prep for new coat. I spent about 8 hours in total on both my rear flares to remove old paint. And one side paint was really rough but was a PITA to get off with the fine grit.
  4. The ignition cylinder is missing it’s screw that holds it in place. There’s a lever in the column that you are supposed to push down with a couple of your fingers on your right hand while simultaneously rotating the ignition to you. That will allow you to remove the key while keeping the ignition lock in the column. Welcome to a GM Saginaw steering column.
  5. I have one. It just shows it’s age with a crack and broken ash tray hinge
  6. Lol fair. I wouldn’t suggest electric steering anyways. To many problems with some of them.
  7. Damn. Thanks Buck.
  8. Can you even retrofit an electric steering pump to our trucks?
  9. May I ask what kind of shape the lower dash panel was in?
  10. You could get rid of power steering on the 2.5L too and just have it be like an old optionless vehicle.
  11. I would grab the tire winch anyways. it makes a great bracket and if you just end up tearing the winch out of the middle, you could send the brackets to krusty to have him refab and mount any other winch we could think of using. The B-pillar exhausters need to always be snagged too. Rear MJ wiring harness should be a must grab. Meaning the inside cab and back to the tail lights.
  12. Thanks gentlemen. Just need to go get more paint and clear and she will be ready for badging and decal.
  13. Um. I’m speechless. She’s not perfect and still has some areas that need to be touched up due to running out of paint but wow! Sorry about the light. Just got home. Theres some issues to address and clear to be coated but holy crap! I have a painted truck! I can see some dents. Lol. She’s a thirty year old truck. I was lucky to see any before this happened. But I’m thankful and appreciate the work that has been done
  14. What I’m curious about is how different is the 96 XJ harness to just not give any power to the switch? Everything else on that headlight bulk head works except power to the switch to go to the lights. Unless such wasn’t wired right or there’s a fuse or relay that is bad somewhere.
  15. I’m pretty stumped on this too. I’ve been talking with him for a while on this issue and he addressed it today. Granted he’s all the way on the other end of the valley so I can only go off of what I know. I think he’s not getting any power at the switch to send down the line to the lamps, so I think there’s something wrong between the PDC or battery to the switch itself. The LED on the switch does not light up at all to indicate power when the headlights are on. Anyone got anything?
  16. It really boils down to rust. That’s what everyone will tell you. It looks good from the picture but until you go and take a look at it and check it’s undercarriage and such, $4000 doesn’t seem terrible.
  17. I found 2 dealers who have what you are looking for. One is the 87-89 Paint As Required color and the other is Dark sand. Theres also Three Charcoal left PM me which ones you want and I will provide you with a dealer to call.
  18. I'm happy to oblige. Have fun!
  19. I had a NOS short bed set for a while till I sold them. That is the style for our trucks as they fit the whole box scheme. I’d imagine when these parts were around was the nineties. But almost all of us probably entered the MJ scene a tad bit late to snag goodies like this in a junk yard.
  20. Turn signal new metal style- 3764863. For the side markers, they are not serviceable. You’ll have to find an aftermarket to fit. I know crown makes the turn signal socket. Try this number 56018638. But it seems like both numbers don’t show up at all to cross reference to crown. Not even the old 83501000 number doesn’t show up.
  21. Is it me or has no one ever replied to something posted three years ago? Will agree. It is a clean XJ

  23. Cherokee door swap and seats have been done. Those aren’t original factory panels or seats. So my best guess is they swapped those with ease but didn’t do a full 97+ swap.

  25. Yup. As long as it’s the TBI set up.
