Well, That depends. Those sensors don't sell for any higher than $50. The temp sensor you probably will have to call a dealer who has it but for the oil you can go to your local dealer....or go through me to get it for cheaper.

This should answer your question. Go MoPar until the parts are gone.

Actually. Of the five available the oldest number that is around is the most expensive at $235 and the newest being at $169. And these are new starters. Not reman. 4.0Ls are lucky. The 2.5L bosch units are like $325 a pop brand new. Course there aren’t any left but at the time. Hell they still are expensive reman.

There’s 5 MoPar 4.0L starters left.

Check the starter relay. I had that happen and one of the wires was barely hanging on to the terminal. Course i gotta ask if this is on your MJ since this post is in the pub

Question on Drag Link & Tie Rod Ends
eaglescout526 replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I’ll bite. I say if the sway bar is in bad shape like bent, warped or rusted then swap it. Otherwise it should last a life time unless you do a lift. The drag link should be replaced if there is excessive play in the joint. -
The 86 font would look pretty BA.

It is safe to say it is a reused code. Chrysler throws out old code descriptions in favor of new ones.

I'm sure you can still run the cams and factory computer. The computer should still be able to adjust.

I’ll tell when I get home. I don’t have the catalogue but it has to do with the degree and in which the valves open up.

What arethese and where do they go.
eaglescout526 replied to VixJeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The white which at one point was grey controls the heater valve for the core. The black one is what controls vacuum for your vents. There should be a reservoir in the bumper and one end should lead to a broken end that needs to plug into that line. Then you'll get your vent air back.- 5 replies

Electrical(?) Question

That's pretty neat! I'm surprised I haven't seen any of those tools floating around on the internet. -
Electrical(?) Question
eaglescout526 replied to reevesmanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You have piqued my interest in the tool. Doesn't it require the MS-1700 though? Never mind. It is a stand alone. -
Electrical(?) Question
eaglescout526 replied to reevesmanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yup! Every time I do an adjustment to the TPS it does something funky with my engine. I can't explain it but it doesn't run right like she should. So I have to whip out my AMC TBI book and readjust it to the specs in the book. So his scan tool always throws his "Check Engine" light saying the TPS is out of spec when it really isn't. 88 TBI Renix. Everything is still on and attached and works as it should when she left the factory. -
Electrical(?) Question
eaglescout526 replied to reevesmanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Highly recommend it. Really helps hunting down those pesky sensor issues. Course I think his program for the 2.5L is off but I digress. -
Electrical(?) Question
eaglescout526 replied to reevesmanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They are pretty quality. Granted the cases are 3d printed but for what nickintimes is doing being a one man operation, it suffices. They do a pretty good job without spending a crap load of money on a snap on or hunting down an MS-1700. I'm pretty sure they will last as long as there are Renix Jeeps still on the road, like most of us. -
Electrical(?) Question
eaglescout526 replied to reevesmanche87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As warren said they are pre OBD diagnostic connectors. Only three things can read the ECU. MS-1700, Snap on diag readers and Nickintimes REM scan tool. -
Engine swap into 1989 Comanche Base
eaglescout526 replied to CODriver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Define trouble. The 2.5L was made when 55mph was still the national speed limit. I can see 65-70 no problem. It really boils down to your shifting and how well the engine runs. -
Well, see Chrysler has reused codes over the years to mean other things. So unless you have an original build sheet to compare this one to, the original codes are lost. So these build sheets are not 100% accurate. But they are a build sheet.
