Y’all think those trucks are bad? Get a load of this: I don’t remember where I first saw this but seeing that six door ford made me remember this abomination.

‘86 runs on starting fluid but stops
eaglescout526 replied to KatahGii's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Check to see if your pump is pumping fuel. Since she fires and runs then you know your CPS is good and so is your spark. Check the fuel pump relay and the pump itself. Then go from there. -
I must be the only one who has a blue 2.5L block then. Make it whatever color. Doesn’t have to be those two.
-
Paint it Chrysler or GM blue and it won’t look so odd

So bizarre you have a 4.0 T-stat housing. Hey it works.
-
Same as fiat and does not work on edge. Bizarre.

All dash gauges show incorrect reading.
eaglescout526 replied to stonehands's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You will need to adjust the tach to read the 2.5L properly. As for the other gauges you will need to keep at it and see why their readings are off. -
I believe the head restraints is seat belts

Oh dammit. I was looking at a 4.0 set up after I looked up a VIN last night. 33002508 or 32002708 will work. My bad for the confusion.

I agree with JMO. When I installed my AC I got a gates hose that went from the water pump to the heater valve and it was cut to fit and had the right bend in it to come from the water pump and go in-between the AC mount and cylinder head. Plus its extra length of hose to repair or replace any other worn out hoses.

Not much of an update. Just replaced my front brakes. Oh boy was I living on the edge. 3 out of 4 were getting to bare metal. The last one was bare metal and made the passenger side suspension and knuckle look all sparkly with metal. Good job me not replacing what probably is 20 year old brakes. Rears weren't bad, replaced them last year but installed the shoes wrong. Went ahead and replaced them and hung onto the year old ones. New VS. Old: Something exciting is going to happen:

Is your truck in the registry? If so did I provide a build date? I can give a build sheet for ya too if you would like. -

eaglescout526 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I’m gonna do a photo dump of what I have so far for my books: (automatic trans. AMC really went with a blinding color) And the best for last. I got this from a gentleman off eBay whom I’ve bought a good chunk of these books from and he sent me this gem in great condition: I love this magazine already. -

Boldly going where no JK's have gone before. -
Welcome back. You won't know me but if your truck is in the registry, I went through and curated every VIN with a build date. If you would like I can provide a build sheet for you truck. slight problem with them is Chrysler has reused some sales codes over the years so everything may not be as accurate as it should be when AMC built it. All the 89-92 have accurate info.

Can't find replacement trim around grill
eaglescout526 replied to Z1500's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They’re just trim pieces. Problem is in 91 Chrysler switched over to a three piece set up. So you can either use the three piece of ask someone to snag those trim pieces from a junk yard Cherokee or Comanche from 84-90 -
Sounds good. I’ll let you know.
-
I got a GM one coming in the mail, will report back on that.
-
That’s the Renix ICM. Should be a Renix logo or sticker on it somewhere.
-
Oh yea. I frequent them all the fricken time. They practically know me. I thought about making a trip and looking but they value their columns and don’t like parting with a lot of the pieces. I’ll have to look into that Glendale one though.

Mopar performance Ecu
eaglescout526 replied to Strokermjcomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I got to thinking about the specs on this ECU. Anyone think a 4.0 stroker benefit from this ECU? I’m thinking it would.
