Thanks, first set was a trial. I think they came out good. Excited to see the turbines done. Something like this might work. https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys-SPI_402_16-Restorer-Protectant/dp/B00FALVXEQ/ref=asc_df_B00FALVXEQ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312061076118&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5421729397483677360&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028756&hvtargid=pla-406164510953&psc=1&tag=&ref=&adgrpid=62430536632&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvadid=312061076118&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5421729397483677360&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028756&hvtargid=pla-406164510953

Wheel Center Cap Emblems
Smokeyyank replied to ghetdjc320's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
I'm definitely interested, need at least 4 possibly 8. -
I think you're right, they look chrome verses a machined/painted face.

If you are talking about polishing wheels to a mirror type finish it's not too bad to do it your self. Lots of time and sandpaper but thats about it. I completely refinished a set of wheels for my daily and am polishing up some turbines as well. The turbine below are a comparison of just cleaned vs 280 grit IIRC. They'll eventually get worked to a mirror polish on top and wheel paint the rest. Just been lazy to finish. To get a mirror finish start with a low grit and build up to higher grit before polish. On the ones I finished 2000 was the last grit I used both dry and wet polish. If you just need to remove corrosion it will depend if the clear or whatever was used to seal it is peeling. If its not peeling bad you can use some of the wheel polish compunds to bring them back. If its bad and peeling no easy way other than stripping them down and polishing them back up.

Yep, only difference was variok or open. It was either swapped or a 4.0 with a 35.

91' Eliminator Daily Build
Smokeyyank replied to CaptainPatchy's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Someone way smarter than me probably had a better answer, but basically yes. I know you'll want fine strand cable because it's a B to bend if not, proper connectors and that's basically it.- 90 replies

Aluminum housing. Mainly ZJ and WJ v8, and the vette as mentioned. My WJ has one, does fine for what I need. Eventually swapping in a 9.

You're right was thinking the WJ.
-
It's too wide and yes you have to cut off the brackets and weld new ones on.

91' Eliminator Daily Build
Smokeyyank replied to CaptainPatchy's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
You'll need to run longer wires obviously which can get expensive. If you don't need the space in the bay I'd just swap in a odyssey if you want a fancy battery. Probably cheaper than wire too.- 90 replies

Correct, sub is ran off the 5th 200w channel. Could do dual amps if you wanted but I didn't see a lot of need for the size of the cab to need that much power. I wanted more than what the head unit would pump out. When I crank it its noticeably loud. In my WJ I run one of these with speakers powered off the deck. https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Subwoofers/Powered+Subwoofer/TS-WX120A I did not want to sacrifice space but wanted a little sub. It does OK, doesn't give you any bump but fills out the music nicely. Overall, not that loud even when full blast still way better than stock though.

I have this head unit. I don't listen to CDs to opted for the BT one to save space which was needed with running RCAs and limited space. Biggest reason for this was 5v preamp outputs along with robust features for a low price. https://www.kenwood.com/usa/car/excelon/kmm-x704/ I run a 8" Kicker sub in a shallow box. I like it, gives a little bump to help round out the music. I initially wanted to go with a 10" but the 8 just fit better. A 12" is too big IMHO. Not enough cab space to need a 12". https://www.crutchfield.com/p_206CWCD84/Kicker-44CWCD84.html?tp=68848 Amp is this 5ch. Ran all the speaker through it and the 1 ch for the sub. Can crank some decent tunes. https://soundstream.com/product/pn5-640d/ I do have buckets and this is behind the driver seat. All fits nicely with minimal disruption to interior space.

Project “Tomahawk”
Smokeyyank replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Did you end up making them or find some? Need to get some for my turbines. -
Sipping on these two for the evening. First is Lucky Lighter Kolsch style, from Ratio. Pretty decent and super crushable. Went through a sixer in no time. Nightcap was Hyperlink IPA from Cerebral. Good, but nothing outstanding, would say a solid go at the juicy, simcoe, mosaic style. Cheers!

Not sure if @krustyballer16 is still making them. Had some of my project MJ. https://comancheclub.com/topic/49608-krustyballer-fabrications/#comments

Look on rock auto. The spectras gave decent reviews and aren't that expensive. You can also look into converting it to an open system.

Had a alt beer few weeks ago. Was really good. Probably one of the few dark beers I can tolerate regularly.
-
As my grandfather would say, "my favorite beer is in my hand and cold". A while ago I went a food and beer pairing event that was interesting. I do feel beer can be paired well with food but drinking a full pint of some let alone a sixer is a challenge. Had a peanut butter stout few weeks ago. Really good for a sip or two but no way I can drink a pint.

Happy Friday! Picked up this helles lager from cerebral brewing in Denver. Really good, crisp and clean. Well balanced and easy to drink. Yes I should be sipping stouts and porters based on the season but just can't. Never been a fan of darker beers.

How did you aquire your Comanche and what is the story behind it?
Smokeyyank replied to Classy Comanche's topic in The Pub
Here's the novel. I've had three and sold one so at 2 currently, it's been a fun adventure of how I've got them. They have all been members rigs. I had a XJ for a while and the unibody cracked which lead to it's demise. Wanted another but wife wanted me to get a "nicer" vehicle for the little one that was on the way. So got a "nicer" vehicle but still wanted a jeep. Was talking with one of the Naxja guys (yellaheep) that had two comanches he was wanting to get rid of. I had never really heard of comanches but seemed cool and being a truck was a bonus (hauling football equipment got tricky in the accord). So traded some parts from my old XJ and some cash to get it. Had it for a while did some little things here and there but just drove it and loved it. Then moved and didn't drive it as much. I got to the point of wanting to have more of a hardcode offroad rig again and didn't want to chop it up so just kept driving it with slow aspirations to build the WJ. Then I stumbled on Meanlemons project MJ that had most of what I was looking for. So I sold my MJ to another NAXJA guy and got the project MJ shipped to CO from PA. After I get it life happened again and we moved again. Once we finally got settled in the new place decided I was going to finally get to working on the project MJ and started getting little things done. Then during my hourly CL search for jeep things I stumbled on a MJ that looked very similar to my original one. Well probably because it was. Reached out to guy I sold it to and he hit the same wall I did of wanting something to bash but couldn't beat up the MJ. So I purchased it back but with stiffners and some other little things done. So now I have the project MJ, OG MJ and the WJ. Knowing I wasn't going to be able to keep them all tried to sell the project MJ but wasn't successful at first, so I figured I'd keep working on it and sell it once it was running or just part it out. Well never really got to it and then I saw zambeezys 92 come up. Wasn't really looking for another MJ but this was close, a 92 and running. At first figured I'd strip the project MJ and throw those parts on the 92, but I wasn't sold on doing that. Then a savior @derfcomes and snags the project MJ away saving my the time of stripping it. So now I'm at 2 MJ's, the 88 and the 92. Still undecided if I will keep them both. Part of me wants to build a race truck with the 92 but might just clean it up and keep it stockish. Right now not in a rush to do anything. I drive the 88 a lot, tinkering on the 92 and still getting parts for the WJ. The 88 OG MJ How I got it How it is The project MJ The 92 and 88 together -
I just swapped the injectors on my 92 this afternoon. Wasn't that bad. Not sure if it's more difficult on a renix. To get the clips off you need a pick to get to the metal slide clamp thingy and just get one side out and they should pop off the injector. It takes some finesse but nothing too crazy. As for getting the old injector out you gotta give them a good yank. Little wiggle and jiggle action doesn't hurt. You also should be able to disconnect the fuel line going into the rail and not need to worry about the regulator.
