  1. Sweet, thank you for the info. I already have the trail tamper bump stops and the cans. Running TJ metalcloack coils. So may take you up on those. I'll send you a PM.
  2. Checked out the irate thread, awesome work. Out of curiosity can I get some info on your retainer spring set up? Have a very similar want for my WJ and trying to get some more info. This is what I'm trying to build for my WJ. Company that made them is not longer around.
  3. On the topic of upgrades one that I had thought of was using a misting type of system in front of the radiator using washer fluid. Thought was similar to a swamp cooler and using water evaporation to help cool. Basically using some small misters to blast the radiator then rest of the system does it work.
  4. Got to see the legendary Shonen knife last night. Played a killer set, first half was their Ramones covers Then came out and played bunch of their other stuff. Crazy range of songs from super poppy to melodic to rock but a ton of fun and chicks can shred.
  5. Running power to the amp doesn't require the dash being removed, but your deck has to come out and you have to wiggle all over to run the new wires to connect stuff for the amp. This is also all pending your deck can support an amp too. If you don't have RCA outs your limited You need a install kit like this to start. Bare minimum you need power wire, ground wire, amp turn on wire and RCAs. https://www.knukonceptz.com/product/kca-complete-8-gauge-amplifier-installation-kit/ You just need to run the power wire through the firewall. Either poke it through a hole there or a new one with a grommet. Then from your deck you need to run the RCAs back to the amp along with the turn on wire. This is where you might need to pull some carpet and trim to hide the wires. You ground the amp close to it. Then run all your speaker wire from the amp to the speakers. In regards to a sub, personal preference on what you listen to. I run a 8". Most times It's turned to barley on but I like how it rounds out the system.
  6. Thanks! Decided I need to pass the torch to my neighbor for the worst yard on the street.
  7. Thank you! Kicked my @$$ but after a few quotes for someone else to do it my @$$ hurt a lot less. I get landscape work sucks but my gosh it's a yard not a golden path.
  8. Will be interested to see how the audio turns out. Assuming amazing as always.
  9. Spent most of the summer redoing our front yard, hence no movement on Jeep stuff. And why not do it when its hotter than satan's nut sack...... Inherited a mess from the previous owners. Over the years it has just gotten worse and worse. I personally hate yard work/care more than anything. After the low snow and just deadness decided it was time to move on. Goal was low to no maintenance and pollinator friendly plants, no grass anywhere. What I started with, PO put up the wall and it was fn terrible, crooked, falling apart and ugly AF. Then they just had crap over growing everywhere. Started removing the trash and getting to a clean slate. Then started to take shape; grading, hardscaping, plant layout, turf base. Finished product, went with all native plants that are drought tolerant for full sun. Rock and gorilla hair mulch. Nice piece of turf in the middle. Super happy with how it turned out and not having to spend a fortune, but took me a century, to quote my wife.
  10. Man I'm a sucker for the 60s. Think 1969 hits the sweet spot. Chevrolet Nomad, the daily Wagoner, the wheeler K5 family hot rod ZL-1 camaro, date night BMW 2002 for track day
  11. As I was walking in the upstairs hallway, I passed by this box. I immediately had to go ask my daughter what on earth it was. Spy house..........a house for the spys to do stuff and put their stuff in. Duh dad.
  12. Because gas prices.....
  13. Words.....yeah, can't make them. Those are some sexy @$$ welds. Appreciate the help and knowledge!
  14. Haha. I saw one the other day the resonated Ever feel like your in a unofficial contest with how many times you can say F*ck in a day or that just me.
  15. That's sweet!
  16. Haven't been grabbing that much lately with any spare penny being feed to either kids or the jeep. But did pick this up. The Urchin, Another day another sorry state, Japanese melodic punk. Great album front to back. https://readdork.com/music-videos/the-urchin-the-urchin-chairman-of-the-discount-liquor-store-6thjr4xs
  17. Slight pivot this week. Since @neohic suckered me into the exact axles I'm wanting for the MJ, needed to change gears to mock up the atlas and axles. Started getting the atlas in place to mock up some stuff. I was struggling to get a jack to lift it high enough. After battling with blocks and ratchet straps said f it. I didn't want to lower the entire jeep to get it to reach and I still would have to have gotten a tranny jack attachment. So did some searching and found this motor cycle jack that feels like Jesus himself saw my struggles and wanted to help out. Thing is fn awesome and made it sooooo easy. Had to use a 2x4 to clock it but that was it. Link Amazon.com: Jack Boss 350 Lbs Motorcycle Lift Jack Table, Hydraulic Foot-Operated Scissor Lift Jack for ATV Dirt Bike, Motorcycle Stand with 4 Wheels : Automotive After getting it in, started with the rear since it was the easier. Really just got it underneath to see where the back brace needed to go with the pinion getting dialed in. I'll get the backbone truss in and then start on the upper truss after. The coil buckets will interfere and I'll have to trim the truss down, but going to get most of the rest burned in. Next was the hard part, front axle. Full disclosure, no clue WTH I'm doing, but want to learn so here I am. I know I needed to rotate Cs. So previously had gotten those off and had some new ones to go on. After I started measuring and doing the maths. I knew I wanted 6* of caster and that was about it. Watched some videos and tried to get as much info about setting driveline angles. My mickey mouse math gave me about 7.5* UP for the pinion angle, 6* + caster. So then I started whacking. Mocked it all up again and seems good... I dunno. Then quick meet up for new axles and burning in Cs. @neohic is just about as cool as his MJ! Which is pretty freakin cool. New Cs buned in Be back to working on the rockers here soon.
  18. Had a e30 vert for a while. Thing was a blast to drive, one of my favorite cars. Learned alot working on that engine too.
  19. Started with a 88 s-10 blazer like this. Really wanted a XJ but parents said no. Only highlight was a put an insanely loud sound system in it. Won a competition hitting 145dbs. Really had no clue what I was doing, but it was fund till it got stolen. Then fast and Furious came out so naturally had to get the ricer fix. Picked up a 97 eclipse. I had always been into cars but this was the first time I could "modify" something and in natural teenage phase did a bunch of dumb AF things, chopped the muffler, chopped the coils and threw a gigantic wing on. Thing was awful, but I thought I was cool. After having a real job for a bit I started to do things kind of right, then the car was stolen. Had just put brand new wheels and tires on went to work came out for lunch and couldn't find the car. After I kept with the them of impractical driver and got a 88 K5 blazer. Threw on a 12" lift, chopped the exhaust off with 40s and went to college. Mobbed that thing around until it got to be too much.
  20. At this point in Jeep ownership I'm more worried if there wasn't a leak.
  21. I run jeepcables on everything I've had. Very pleased all around. Nothing crazy I've noticed from swapping them other than the old ones where beat to F.
  22. Depends on what parts. Rockauto is good for basic replacement stuff. Brands is becoming a crap shoot.
