Project “Tomahawk”
Smokeyyank replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Top notch! -
Well after doing the basics, paying off some things, finishing all my jeep projects, completing my other car "want to have" projects and getting the parents/kids taken care of, I'd be moving. Not sure what the private island real estate market is like but I'd start there or at least a country with lax tax laws to be my "full time" residence. Then have a property in the mountains with a race track, a full garage and other fun things. Would definitely travel to check somethings off the bucket list. I'd want to buy a supercar in Europe and travel to all the race tracks their to drive on. Then I'd figure out a business to start so I could quit my day job. After that I'd still have more than enough money to know what to do with. So I'd figure a way to have no kill animal shelters in each state. Not really a fan of donating money so would want to have trusts set up for individual causes. Other one that comes to mind is setting up sports programs for underserved youth.

If this was a Ford it would make perfect sense

Project “Tomahawk”
Smokeyyank replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Are you using a 97+ XJ window for the front doors? I saw the bleepin jeep write up and eventually want to do that. Hate the smoker vents, but want to keep the original door style and cards. -
I just finished wiring up my stereo a bit ago and this is the kit I went with for mine. I did install an amp but I rewired everything for speakers and the deck. https://www.knukonceptz.com/mobile-audio/amp-installation-kits/sp/complete-8-gauge-amplifier-installation-kit/ Very happy with the quality for the price.

You can use the later long blocks. The head and such is where things get weird.

Project Bitchin "MANCHEE"
Smokeyyank replied to Smokeyyank's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Got around to installing some things. Put in the jeepcables.com wiring kit. While I was messing with that decided it was time to upgrade the stereo that was beat to crap. I didn't need anything crazy but I really wanted a nice system in something. WJ doesn't have the space and my Scions system does fine. So I dropped in a 8" sub 5ch amp and new speakers and a deck. Sounds awesome and the 8" sub has the perfect amount of bass. -

Yessir! Going to be a ssllllooowww build though.

I'll have a build thread soon but this is what I'm starting with...... It's a 72 that they guy was going to graft on to a TJ frame with some other silly things. I do not intended to go that route but will slowly do a resto mod. Been hunting for a bullnose one for a while and this was a smoking deal and I got a LS to swap into it too.

Thanks for the replies. Went with the car hauler. Be getting a new project this weekend.

Quick question, I just bought a 72 commando but need to trailer it. It currently has a D60 rear but no front axle. I'll have a tractor at pick up and drop off to move it. My question is will this trailer work or do I need a transport? I'm concerned with the width of the axle being able to fit inside the utility trailer. Trailer I'm wondering about Transport

Rear window - One piece vs Slider
Smokeyyank replied to Airborne Janitor's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Slider all day. Had a one piece in mine after the slider was shot out and I was not a fan. I don't have ac but having the slider open at least helps get some air moving. -
Very Nice White 1991 Comanche in North Dakota
Smokeyyank replied to Bill's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Nice but not 20k nice. But guessing if you're going to mention "new" lugnuts you're getting top dollar..... -
Might be best to part it out. Amount of work involved is doable but not exactly easy or cheap. To give you an idea. https://www.jeepforum.com/threads/xj-with-a-frame-build.741237/

Lol, Yeah and this would be a solid candidate to swap those parts over to. To complicate it even more a bullnose commando just popped up for cheap and I've been looking for one for a while. Soooooooo wife's gonna be pissed.

I'm trying to snag this but seller is pretty lax in getting it sold. Not responding to emails and no phone number. So will see what happens.
