  1. What are you building it for? Are you fine chopping fenders? What's your budget. That will determine a lot. Gears are dependent on your transmission and engine. If you have a 5 banger will need to go deep. 4.56 with a manual you can be fine up to 35s but 4.88s more ideal, 5.13s if 2.5. Auto 4.88s work but 5.13s are more ideal for 35s If you just want to cruise around I'd stick to 33s max 31s ideally, do control arm drop brackets, upgrade the lower arms and OME 3.5 coils, rear either new leafs or AAL with a 1" shackle and decent shocks. If you're wheeling long arms, either 3 or 4 link, no radius arms, new leafs and 2" shackle and 4" coils. If you want 35s you need more lift, like 6", not to mention the slew of other things for 35s.

    CC cookbook

Got a new Akorn Kamado grill that has an auto temp feature so tried my hand at smoking. Had the regular Akorn before and I absolutely loved it, but setting the temp took some work so never smoked in it. It was starting to get beat up and I got the new one for insanely cheap. I went it to this completely blind, never smoked anything before but have always wanted to. Did a chicken with a homemade chili lime seasoning and added pecan wood chunks. Overall came out decent. Next go around think I'll brine it and I messed up not soaking the wood chunks so little on the unsmokey side. Also think I'll mix up some seasoning and rubs. Temp was 250 for about 4 hours to get 165*. Fun experience overall.

    Beer

Welp its beer 30. Picked up a few that I've had before but never put them up here. First is Chasing Ghost from Epic. Double dry hopped double IPA at 10%. Grabs you by the short and curlies and is dangerously smooth. I rarely grab them but wanted something with some octane to kick off the night. Next is Single speed from Vail brewing. It's a Kolsch style and super delicious. Really smooth and well balanced. Not a typical fall/winter beer but all around a great choice in my opinion.
  5. Thanks, that's what I was thinking. I'll see if I can snag them cheap enough.
  6. Thanks for the replies. It's these. He wasn't planning on selling them was just cleaning out some XJ parts. He asked what I was putting the turbines on and I told him the MJ and then it's what spurred the conversation of oh I have these...... Really I don't have any use for them other than selling them unless someone wants them and I'd be happy to grab them. He didn't have a price in mind and just said make an offer but I didn't want to get something that wasn't "special" or offer over what they are worth.
  7. Random question, just picked up some turbines from a guy and he also had some factory Comanche side steps. I'm personally not interested in them but was wondering if they're worth anything or if I should just pick them up.
  8. Haha too accurate. More fitting if, I've never actually been camping but I like the look.......

    Beer

Geez, I've been slacking. Haven't posted anything here for over a year and I know I've been drinking my fair share. Anywho, shifted away from IPAs lately and been drinking more pilsners and lagers. My go-to as of late has been helles style lagers. Picked up this Beer Flavored Beer from Willey roots in CO. It's decent not a top pick for me. One I've really been liking is Lightshine Helles from Wibby.
  10. Thanks for the info. I'm not looking to buy it. Just saw it pop up and was wondering from the expert point on how rare it was.
  11. No clue if this is a rare find or not, but I would think so based on the year and configuration. Thoughts? https://fortcollins.craigslist.org/cto/7559370954.html
  12. Someone said they got it for about $2k after copart fees. Just nuts
  13. I just put in an entire system in mine. I went with a kicker speakers and a sub all around. I got them from Crutchfeild all of them were the scratch and dent ones so I saved a good chunk of cash. Wiring I went with knuconcepts for the amp and speaker wire. Great quality for the price. I did a 5ch amp so ran all new wire for the speakers. Front I went with 6.5" they fit without needing to modify the door cards a lot but I probably should have went with 5.25. Rears 4x6 and a 8" sub. Overall, very happy with it.
  14. Amazing work! Excited to see how it turns out.
  15. Well after doing the basics, paying off some things, finishing all my jeep projects, completing my other car "want to have" projects and getting the parents/kids taken care of, I'd be moving. Not sure what the private island real estate market is like but I'd start there or at least a country with lax tax laws to be my "full time" residence. Then have a property in the mountains with a race track, a full garage and other fun things. Would definitely travel to check somethings off the bucket list. I'd want to buy a supercar in Europe and travel to all the race tracks their to drive on. Then I'd figure out a business to start so I could quit my day job. After that I'd still have more than enough money to know what to do with. So I'd figure a way to have no kill animal shelters in each state. Not really a fan of donating money so would want to have trusts set up for individual causes. Other one that comes to mind is setting up sports programs for underserved youth.
  16. If you can, get under it and have some one turn the steering wheel back and forth to check for any play in components. Also check ball joints lifting it off the ground and grabbing the wheel to check for play.
  17. Is your rig lifted or stock? From what you're describing sounds like death wobble and there's no real " do X and it will fix it" solution but there's a basic checklist to eliminate the parts cannon needing to fire. Trackbar is what stabilizes the axles from lateral movement. Have you replaced that?
  18. If this was a Ford it would make perfect sense
  19. Are you using a 97+ XJ window for the front doors? I saw the bleepin jeep write up and eventually want to do that. Hate the smoker vents, but want to keep the original door style and cards.
  20. I just finished wiring up my stereo a bit ago and this is the kit I went with for mine. I did install an amp but I rewired everything for speakers and the deck. https://www.knukonceptz.com/mobile-audio/amp-installation-kits/sp/complete-8-gauge-amplifier-installation-kit/ Very happy with the quality for the price.
