Rearranging current space. I would love to add new but that isn't in the cards. My dad has a lift at his house so pending what I'm working on I just go up there and use the lift. Biggest issue is trying to find tools in his $#!& storm of a storage system. The current thought is using the 3rd garage spot as the area for "working" and tool storage while being able to park something there that can be moved. I do plan to have a temporary wall of sorts to contain stuff, especially with welding/grinding. Thanks for the info.

Good to know about PEX. I definitely consider going down that route because it seems it would be a lot cheaper. So do you just buy the termination to air hose connectors separate?

Project Bitchin "MANCHEE"
Smokeyyank replied to Smokeyyank's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Picked up a waggy front clip yesterday. Not fully sure what I'm going to do with it. Might put it on one of the MJs or might just be wall art. Always thought these were super cool and price was right. -
Looking to install a 3.5-4.5 Lift Kit
Smokeyyank replied to DesertComanche86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
A traction device will do far more for your offroad ability than a lift. Just throwing it out there. For 31s I'd do a double shear track bar, short arms, OME coils, new leafs, solid tie rod, steering refresh and good shocks. As other have said piecing it together is better than buying a "kit". Really depends on your budget and ability. -
Beer thirty is here! Picked up this Kolsch style ale from West Bound and down, colab with Beirstadt. Won Silver at GABF last year. Really tasty and smooth. Definitely drink a few without knowing.

Thanks for the input. Yes, I will be getting a bigger compressor. The one in the pic is my beat around compressor that I use for stuff in the house and other jobs. I would like to get a bigger vertical one but wouldn't be able to build a separate spot for it. That's a good thought to plumb lines before covering walls. Anything specific I need to do for that? Assuming something like this https://www.amazon.com/Maxline-Leak-Proof-Compressor-Accessories-HDPE-Aluminum/dp/B005FKYRTU/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Shop+Air+Compressor+Line&qid=1674145284&sr=8-3 I do have a shed already outside that has a a lot of the seasonal stuff and some other things I didn't get to organize when we first moved in. The MJ currently in the garage will be going away so that will free up a lot of space and is the big piece of the puzzle that needs to get the f out of the way. There is a loft area above the 3rd car spot. It has a few things but will be looking to add a ladder and some more storage up there for some of the random crap. It's not huge but more useable space. Good idea about the casters. I do plan to get some cabinets. Had a buddy that put peg board on the cabinet doors to hang stuff which I might do to. I had thought about the filing cabinet or lockers to keep some things in. I already have a Miller 180 currently that can run off 120, but do plan to get a bigger one. Most of the welding I do/ am capable of is smaller things. I am going to run new outlets and more lights. If there's one thing I've learned in life is you can never have too many outlets or lights, especially in the garage. I'm hoping I won't have to put in a new panel but pretty sure I will which I know isn't cheap right now.

I do have a new rolling 56" toolbox and am planning a work bench/welding table. Have thought about maybe a fold down bench to utilize space.

Ok, thanks for the info. I have a rough idea but this might be the best idea. Might have to raid the kids legos.... Thanks for the info. I may do OSB. Will have to see what I can source The door by the MJ goes to the back yard there is another door the goes to the inside of the house. First two pics are from the vantage point.

Going to be tackling a garage renovation soon and was wondering if anyone has some tips, thoughts or ideas. I have a three car garage and one of them has to be for the wifes car, rest are for me. Mainly want something that I can obviously keep all my tools in and space to work on things. A welder and drill press and the bigger tools. I do plan do add in a bunch of shelves. Add in insulation and sheet rock (had wanted to do plywood but way too expensive). Right now my loose plan is to clear as much space in the 2 bay area so the wife can park and another car could potentially park in along with putting more of the "stupid" storage over there. Currently there's a janky shelf that makes that space pretty tight. I'd keep the one bay area mainly for tools, work benches and such. I tried to pitch the idea to the wife about her using the 1 bay area and got told some choice words, so that's out. Wanting to see if anyone has some things they've done or ideas?

We have a bunch of them. Really depends on what you're after. HBO is one I use a lot. Decent amount of movies and shows. Disney is a must if you have kids, since disney owns so much you get Marvel, star wars and some other things so not just Mickey mouse crap. Redbull TV I watch a lot and it's free. Netflix is ok, they have some really good shows and tons of other just $#!& ones. Hulu is meh, think the biggest win is they have a good amount of cartoons, good for me and the kids. Paramount isn't too bad but not a lot of new content. They do have a bunch of old nickoloden cartoons and some other decent things. Since they own cbs you get some of those shoes and the occasional sports. Prime is nice since it's more than just streaming. They have some good shows and movies.

Lol, put that on my headstone. Loving father, son and husband owner of 3 Comanches.

Lol, just another example of because you can doesn't mean you should.

Appreciate the input and heavily leaning towards keeping the 92, doing the ax15 and 4wd swap with the suspension set up you mentioned. The waggy axles are overkill for it. I don't need lockers and the rest of the fun stuff on there. Ideally just a hp30/8.25 combo, lsd rear with 4.10 or 4.56s depending on tire size. 31s are what I was thinking. Hard part is trying to part with the pioneer, was my first MJ and just has that special spot in my heart. Could always keep it and make it a street truck if my wife doesn't suffocate me in my sleep before then. First is getting the project MJ somewhere. Probably just part it out, tons of goodies in there.

Hahaha, same.

True and I have about just fixing it, keeping it as is and holding on to it for value. I just don't know realistically how much more a 92 gets over others. I've seen some prices but kind of all over the place. With that though what about model specific? Would making it a 4wd "Pioneer" (IDK if they had them in 92) drive that value lower? In it's stock form it's just so blah. White, automatic, boring wheels, bench seat. I love cruisn the red Pioneer around, and other than a little lift, turbines, some meatier rubber, axles and few other little things not much else I plan to do.

Any more pics you could post up?

Sweet! Awesome to see this getting off the ground. As it relates to the body kit. Does it involve removal of any sheet metal?
-
Lol to clarify a lowered 4wd Jeep.

Need some opinions. Just recently acquired a decently clean and stock 92 MJ, 2wd, SWB, auto. This bring my MJ count to 3, which is too many for me. So now I'm at a cross roads of what to do, can't keep them all and need to sell 2. In the stable is a 89 parts MJ (currently for sale), my 88 Pioneer 4wd and the new 92 2wd. Initially I was planning to convert the 92 to 4wd and swap over most the parts from my 89, but not sure if I'm 100% on board with that. Then I just saw the street Comanche reproduction kits and got some cogs spinning how awesome that could be with a 5spd swap and some other bolt ons. Which ever route I go the MJ is purely a pleasure vehicle for driving around town and occasional home depot run. I wheel the WJ so don't need something to go off road. I'm not going to keep anything 100% stock (so don't say keep it stock) but not going to chop anything up or clap it out. So thoughts?

Happy new year! While carefully curating my selection for the evening I stumbled into a old friend. Man Beer from Bull & Bush. It's a Colorado IPA, really well balanced between malt and hops. B&B and Man beer have a special spot in my heart. My good friend used to live right next to B&B after our ungrad so it was our regular spot. Practically lived there and Man Beer was the go to. So much of a spot I have one of the tap handles on my kegerator. It's still one of the few places I get giddy to goto. Highly recommend stopping in if you're ever in Denver. Over in Glendale which is by Cherry Creek. Place has been a staple for decades. I remember talking to my grandpa and tell him we found this great brewery. When he asked what it was he was like, "Used to be my watering hole! Can't believe it's still around." Hope everyone has a safe and fun new years!

Interior wire harness swap
Smokeyyank replied to Warren99's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I swapped in a 89 ecm into my 88, it was plug and play. I think it only matters on the automatic and needing to have the same. Manual doesn't matter which one you swap. -
The unsprung weight of those is insane and not ideal for unibodies or smaller rigs. Mainly see them on full size, body on frame rigs. Be better off with tons.
