  1. I’m going through the truck checking grounds, but would the grounds consistently make starting the truck slower? Last week it started no problem, yesterday I had to pull out a booster pack to get home
  2. Battery cables are new, I replaced them myself as the old ones were visibly destroyed, wipers are fixed unplugged the box and it blew the fuse right after replaced the fuse and they’re working for now, I’ll have a look at the lights later today, but I’ve hit another problem. When my truck is running I’m reading 14v on my gauges, battery is new and I tested it and it’s reading 12v, but with the key on truck not running my gauges read 8-9v and the truck is taking longer to start up
  3. Hey guys I’m having some problems with my Comanche, my headlights sometimes work, other times they don’t. My wipers and washer randomly quite on me aswell sometime yesterday. I’ve looked over all my wires and nothing is loose or broken, any help?
  4. 1988 Jeep Comanche 4.0 I6 2wd Ontario, Canada rust free on the road
  5. Hey guys, my Comanche just got done in the shop for a road inspection, but I got a problem. my sound system is MIA, radio and half the speakers were missing when I bought the truck. I got about 1 1/2 weeks of driving it around town before I take a 20 hour road trip in it, and I “NEED” a sound system I was trying to figure out what speakers I want to put in, but don’t know much about sound systems. I’ll be lining the inside of the cab with killmat or other sound deadening mat in the future. I was thinking of putting a 12” or 2x 10” subs behind the bench seat but you guys are the experts on these trucks so I’m trying to find suggestions on how to set it up. all suggestions and warnings are appreciated
  6. There’s a guy local selling a set of Rockwell axels and a 6l ls 4l80 setup, I’m more interested in the axels, is this a viable swap? Or completely outrageous? Could the 4.0 handle this or would the 6.0 need to be swapped in?
  7. I found an 89 double bar roll bar from an 89 ford ranger and was curious how well it might fit, and how much fab I might be looking at
  8. So I need a coolant recovery tank and a vacuum harness anything else?
  9. Hey guys I’m replacing the engine harness on my truck and I’m looking at the engine and I can’t think of what I’m missing.
  10. By a stupid mistake I’ve picked up a 95 xj with the 4.0 HO for super cheap, am I able to Frankenstein these two engines together to have a running Comanche? What will I need to swap over to make this work? will it work with the ho harness If I swap computers aswell? I’m just trying to get it running and driving for the most part
  11. I plan on just using it to commute to work, and take on the odd off-road camping trip
  12. I understand your point about not lifting it to much but when I say it needs suspension desperately, I mean it has no suspension, no shocks, the springs are old and worn, and I Seem to be missing a leaf in the back
  13. So I looked around and found an 89 Cherokee with the renix 4.0, all the wiring is in better condition, and the engine area is more complete then mine, but it has no front axle and the body is shot, I’m curious of a price I should pay for something like this
  14. Update, I brought it to a buddy who has worked on similar year cherokees and had him take a look, he went much more in depth then I have the time to and found a spot where my harness is completely melted, also said its been swapped to a 4.0, so there’s another fun time, said the best thing I could do is buy a whole new harness and redo all the wiring. I’m curious are there any companies who make remanufactured harnesses or am I going to have to dig through scrap yards and u-pulls to find a decent harness?
  15. The axels have been swapped to d35s front and rear during the 4x4 swap
