Well, if the weather holds out I might be able to fix my brakes.......

That's because people like to down the pre-batch. You have to still it a second time to get the impurities/imperfections out. Your body takes the pre-batch and breaks it down into two basic chemicals, formic acid and formaldehyde.

Tire size / Gear Ratio / RPM
outlaw star replied to Eagle's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Ok guys, as an engineer, I can give you a simple "plug n play" formula for gearing. This is the best formula I have found as there are various gear ratios offered in our vehicles between models. OTD / NTD x CGR = EGR OTD=Old Tire Diameter NTD=New Tire Diameter CGR=Current Gear Ratio EGR=Effective Gear Ratio Now Effective Gear Ratio is what you vehicle "acts" like it has in the axle. IE (I'll use my Mj) 27/31 x 3.55=3.09 So by going to 31 inch tires, my Mj acts like if it had 3.09:1 gears in it, hence the slower acceleration and feeling that it "lacks power". Now the goal in the math is to plug different gear ratios into the CGR slot untill the EGR number comes as close to stock gearing as possible. IE: 27/31 x 4.10 = 3.57:1 So by regearing my axles to 4.10, my Mj will act and perform with 31's just like it did with the stock 27 inch tires and 3.55 gearing. Now if you use metric tires you must convert the size into inches for the formula to work. If your math cones out to a decimal, round up to the nearest number IE: 32.6 = 33". Now seeing as this thread was about RPMs with tire sizing and gearing, if you know what your current RPMs are at a certain speed, this formula will help you get an idea for what the RPMs will be with larger tires seeing as you are regearing for stock like performance. Yes, I know that tire sizes vary depending on manufacturers but by using a rough measurement of it's diameter you will as stated earlier, have atleast a good idea of the general RPM range. Hope this helps. -
88 2.5 Rough idle, low idle
outlaw star replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, same as the early S-10, the early Dodge Dakota 2.5L, Wrangler Yj 2.5L TBI wkn Early Dodge Daytona 2.2L and 2.5L TBI motors. -
Moonshine is not illegal, you just can not produce large quantities for sale. Down here in Fl, I can make my own, just not allowed to have more than one gallon/four quarts at a time in my possession. I'm originally from West Virginia, so it's in my blood. As for flavors, I turn my fruit into a syrup so you can't waste anything like half of these idiot kids do down here.

I personally have an AA in Automotive Engineering and a degree in Automotive Technology (mechanics) I was the last class of New England Tech before they sold out to Lincoln Tech. My old teachers hate the new curriculum because they've cut out a lot of base knowledge and skill diagnostics for "oh look, lets let the scanner tell us "exactly" what's wrong" which is BS.

Gonna try to flush all the gunk outta my brake lines this weekend.

Figured I'm just gonna repaint her dark blue again. It's only gonna cost me 550. 4x4 swap will be last. I really don't mud anymore so no crazy lift either. Besides I only had 31s on my Xj and it went just about everywhere I wanted.

Nice job. [emoji106] -
Nice rig. I was born up in WV (southeast) The trails are fun but can be rough. Got a ton of family up there with property to ride on.

Replaced the shoes, pads and hardware in the brake system along with a good flush/bleeding. Running Lucas Dot 4 Synthetic fluid. (compliments of 4Wheel Parts).

Core Short Throw Shifter
outlaw star replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just ordered the same shifter. We shall see if it's any good or not. -
Hey guys, my mission is almost complete. When I get back I want to paint my Mj. The motorpool Sgt said he'd give me a gallon of desert sand mil-spec paint if I paint my Mj with it and put 766 EN CO on the bed corner in flat black. Should I take him up on it?

R12 is still used, just not in automotive applications. It's is mainly used only in appliances as they don't leak as much as vehicles. -

86 Comanche Track Bar?
outlaw star replied to adobson06's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's called a double shear Trac bar, yes you can run one fine on a stock vehicle. Check out Ironrockoffroad.com for their double sheer bars and brackets. -
I use the KOA campground in Port Orange every year for Jeep Beach. Any one going to Jeeptoberfest this year?

Neohic's Next!... '91 Pioneer
outlaw star replied to neohic's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
First off, it's a MN truck. Second, it's a winter driver of a MN truck. Third, I hate keeping around stuff that doesn't work. So, since the A.C. will probably never be used, the system leaks, and there wasn't any pressure anyhow I just got rid of everything. Makes getting to the oil filter that much easier too. :wrench:I'm in the process of deleting the AC on our 1990 Winter XJ. '88 MJ came without it and I've fully deleted it on the '90 MJ. No need for it up here, just more junk under the hood! I've been to Florida a few times though. I can understand why you think us northern guys are nuts for doing this. I live in Fl and have never owned a vehicle with AC. I just roll the windows down. Plus I live on the beach.I second that...the only thing that sucks when it's pouring rain. But I still ride with the rear sliding window open for a fresh breezeVentshades/Ventvisors are great for this. They even make them for the back window.
