  1. if you're lucky you can get use the hose to isolate where the water is coming in. everything and anything that could possibly leak has leaked for someone over the years. the last one I dealt with was a leaky windshield that was dripping in and running inside the A-pillar and then dripped on the floor further down. fortunately that truck didn't have any floor liner so babypowder worked to help backtrack the location.
  2. did you at least throw down a few layers of cardboard?
  3. now on to why my elitebook won't recognize any other secondary harddrive...
  4. but I also will be acquiring a new external hd to make a complete save of all his stuff. not because I never back things up (I've got at least 4 copies of important things like family photos in 2 different houses) but because I just now learned that a 500g hd no longer cuts the mustard and 2 are near full.
  5. and the winner is.... loose connection to the hard drive. unless there was something else I accidentally did along the way.
  6. the 7.3 is the better ford diesel sounds like it could be a winner.
  7. trimming the hose is super common with wranglers. they all came with the same tank but 2 different "full tank amounts".
  8. aren't there 2 different types of visors where one variation has the latch points closer together than the other?
  9. I'd love to make $520 in 6 hours. that sounds like a good deal to me. wait, you did the exhaust work with the car on the ground? no stands or ramps or anything?
  10. check the writeups some are even available in the junkyards
  11. someone give me 100k so I can buy one, v8 swap it, lift it, and then use it as the hauler for the about-to-be-mine low mileage MJ so I can then go to car shows and see which one actually gets more looks.
  12. that sounds like a HUGE update to me!
  13. yeah, they usually need to be in one piece, not 4.
  14. what about just using regular paint? rattle can paint jobs are easy to do (prep is everything), can look good, and easy to touch up. whatever you do, do NOT accidentally plug and of the body drain holes (the rockers and door drains are super easy to overlook). I found that out the hard way when I paid a company to spray my rockers way back when. also, welcome to the addiction!
  15. there should be a couple links to aftermarket interior LED lights in my sig that headliner looks gooooooood!
  16. wouldn't we all I hate fixin' stuff
  17. tech Qs should really go in the tech forum where more eyes will see them. the truck looks fantastic!
  18. welcome to the addiction and yea, bring all the pics you can! The CC will host them all.
  19. proof that even the best Jeep projects are never finished.
  20. she's lookin' great! how long before you think she'll be driving? glad it was something cheap. tech Q's from the op should really go in the tech forum so more eyes will see them. not everyone checks the build threads (it's their loss of course)
  21. as soon as you hit 10 posts, the classifieds will open up to you. also, ebay and rockauto.com are decent. car-part.com can help with junkyard searches.
  22. I mean, it's worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay, right? you can ask 20k, but it doesn't mean there's a buyer for it at that price. 8k is definitely the higher end of price. The condition certainly seems pretty good, but keep in mind your truck has the less desirable peugeot trans, no AC, and is a pioneer trim rather than top-o-the-line. to get 8k, you might have to actually pull back the carpet and snap pics of pristine floor boards. Moisture under the carpet is insanely common for these trucks and that rot is horrible to have to deal with. Paperwork and other documentation can help a lot in attracting the high end buyers, so flaunt what ya got. It's certainly not legal, but it is possible to fake the mileage in the old trucks. Oh, and the build sheet is sometimes found tucked under the bench seat or behind the drivers door panel. but yes, you need to post elsewhere in the forums a few more times before the classifieds opens up.
  23. it's been a while, but if I remember right, it takes the flat screwdriver-like end.
