man, I sure wish my lawn tractor had a locker. that would help out immensely with the back acre. unless it hasn't rained for a month, the ground is more or less mushy swamp.

what lift is it? what parts do you have? the cheaper ones are notorious for not including everything you'll need. also, welcome to the addiction!

some amount of gasses escaping is inevitable. that's what the CCV system is there for. but oil shouldn't be escaping with said gasses and there are steps to prevent it.

the answer is, you'll be just fine like that. tons of guys out there running 4.56s and 33s. my 4.10s aren't quite as deep as I'd like.

just don't buy a bench without headrests. for some idiotic reason Jeep felt that the rear window was a good enough to prevent whiplash for YEARS. what was it, 1990 that MJs finally got headrests? there are other options out there too, like the late 90s Dakota split bench that several people have swapped in. supposedly it is very comfy. ZJ buckets too. heck, in my mind the late 90s were the pinnacle in seat cushioning. I really miss my 97 minivan's seats. I almost swapped some in my Liberty, but took the easy way out and put in some KK seats which are... good enough. certainly better than the rock hard KJ seats I had before.

does your engine oil need to be cooled? cooling it down from operating temp changes its viscosity. I have no idea how much so I don't know if it'd be detrimental. I know that some vehicles come with them from the factory, but to me that implies the cooler was taken into account when the oil type was picked.

and? we have a couple member's trucks exceeding 500k. engine blocks don't really just suddenly fail simply because they are old. typically it's a slower process of losing compression and oil pressure over the years. sudden failures are usually due to replaceable parts like seals, pumps or sensors. My 88 has hideously low compression and oil pressure and it still drives ok. (anything over 3500pms and the hp drops off and the blowby is so bad that I now have a big jug acting as a catch for the oil). what are your compression numbers? leakdown numbers? oil pressure? (checked with a mechanical gauge not the factory thingie in the dash that pretends to be one)

as the others have said, never ever ever let a clean MJ touch salt. our trucks rot from the inside out once salt gets into the rockers, frame, bedsides and doors it's incredibly hard to get it out, if not impossible. Use something sacrificial for wintertime use. also, snow tires are more effective than 4wd on slippery roads. My old minivan dominated the snow thanks to the tires.

a thought occurred to me. might not be an original thought since it's been a long day and my brain is fried so apologies if someone typed it somewhere above already, but the original argument was about what different people thought was best for our site. I can think of a lot of worse things to argue over on the internet. and that makes me feel good.
