you can absolutely change out a 4.0 RMS without dropping the trans. took me a few tries to get mine to seal properly.

I've had success with soaking the mechanism in a solvent and then relubing it. unless it's the plastic that's falling apart.

yeah, regular shops can barely be trusted to align our trucks when stock.

these trucks are like legos. as long as you have a place to stash the extra parts, you can mix and match with how you feel that day. I currently have 4 different sets of rims/tires for my MJ trailer
