    nothing bolts on without some sort of adapter. even the Fey bumpers have an adapter.

    I guess it all depends on what you main goal is for it. protection? hold up some lights? look cool and impress the ladies?

    a tie rod end is a tie rod end. I don't remember anything but "the cure" for tie rod movement.

    confirm that the rod that runs from the multifunction stalk down the column to the hibeam switch is there and engaging the switch. I've had them get out of alignment before. you can also check for power there. @cruiser54 any ideas?

    I'm not really sure how to prove a negative.

    do you hear a clicking noise further down the column when you engage the brights?

    sounds like it's time to pull the harness off the headlight switch and inspect for melting too. checking all the high-amp connectors is part of regular maintenance on our old trucks. (hvac, steering column, blower motor, blower resistor pack, etc)

    the 8th digit in the VIN in a 1 so that indicates a base model.

    mine is definitely 35 years old, so it might match better? also, taking pictures of chrome things hasn't gotten any easier.
