I can still see a truck in the photo :rotf: )
  7. very true. It doesn't simply kill everything. but there are a ton of species of spiders (and bugs and plants) that can't cope with long periods of cold. :D
  8. I seem to remember a 10% buyers premium. maybe that's where the extra comes from. :dunno:
  9. very nice. :D side note, how's the MJ coming along?
  10. They now have the prices up on the site. Slight correction, the MJ sold for $8800.
  11. i met 2 different people. one was a guy from the original build team. the other is a self-described AMC nut who turned out to be the high bidder. The winner did assure the 2 of us that he was going to keep it completely original. Not sure if that includes the duct tape in the engine bay. :D It'd be nice if he at least pulled the rusty stuff (leaf springs, traction bars) from underneath and cleaned/repainted it.
  12. took forever to load to youtube, but here's the auction:
  13. the rockers in my 88 look like that. Or at least they would, if the bedliner wasn't precariously holding the rust peieces together. :D I might be doing something similar to what you're contemplating, so take lots of pics of the new rockers.
  14. I don't see the chart. just a But I do see a 443 hp number in your post. very impressive.
  15. A solid rollbar in the bed (tied to the frame of course) can go a long way towards savin' your noggin' for anything but the worst rollovers.
  16. the hood does shut (I saw it closed later on) and the damaged area has rust forming so it wasn't something that happened recently. :dunno:
  17. you might be able to glean some info from the auction's website: http://www.rmauctions.com/CarList.cfm?SaleCode=DS10
  18. ok, slight problem. I thought my flight was on Tuesday. turns out it's monday. and I have to leave for the airport before the sticker store opens. when it rains, it pours. :( I'll leave the money behind and Mom should be able to pick them up, but I won't be able to get them out til I return next weekend. sorry all.
  19. Flying to Florida tomorrow. Will be driving a friend's van back to Michigan for her. Stopping off in Georgia to visit my sis on the way back. Will return home next weekend. until then my internet will be fairly sporadic, but I will check in as often as possible.
  20. oh, and I snapped a shot of the tire tread on a 1904-something-or-nuther.
  21. and now with a sold sticker on it.
  22. I'm back. got lots of photos and even a vid of the MJ auction, but I gotta run to go help a friend who's ford broke down again so I'll upload everything later today. Long story short, I got to meet the new owner (an AMC fan and owner of another MJ) and one of the guys from the original land speed build! Both now know of our little slice of the net and hopefully both will stop by.
  23. well, I'm off. :waving: we'll see what happens.
  24. I thought about that, but I'd rather not raise a ton of cash on a mere hope that I might be able to buy it. But once it's in private hands, there's always a chance that we could pry it away. :dunno:
  25. I'm still mad about that. I can't come up with 1500 just in case it sells cheap, but I'm certain I could find it after winning the bid. $150 I can do. a grand is out of reach. :( I'll still be a bidder. I'm taking my cousin Chris with me and it's $20 bucks either way. I wonder what sort of memorabilia they'll have... :???:
