HI-CNTRD - 1990 XJ Project

Had the Cherokee down at Aamco transmission for them to check out the quirks in the transmission. They rebuilt it the first part of last year. Pretty much had it the whole time I was away working - 8 months 😳. Three weeks ago, I called and they said it was going on the rack that day. He called me back an hour later asking if I had a kill switch in it, because they couldn’t get it to start. I stopped by to see where they were at. They said it was some rodents had eaten some wiring and they fixed it. While working on it the hood cable broke, so they replaced it and also had to put in a new coil and kick down cable. It’s done though. Bringing it to the shop to have them fix a few things next week then it’s going up for sale. -
Found my front drive shaft outside behind a plant along the wall of the house -> It had been out there for years and I thought it was in the corner of the garage with the other drive shafts . It was frozen shut and rusty. I kept oiling it with marvelous mystery oil and eventually freed it up. Took the wire wheel and cleaned off the rust then sprayed it with a few coats of paint -> Hopefully it’s the correct drive shaft - I have a few lol. It’s going to need a special u-joint for it to bolt up to the yolk of the front D44 before I put it in.

Ah yes I had just found the yahoo group after getting my MJ in 04. You switched over here soon after, but I was unaware of the switch until October of 05.

It's now almost 1am and I wanted to finish up my weekend project. I've been working on getting the indicator panel on the left side of the dash cleaned up. The last few days after everyone goes to bed - 10:30/11 - I am at the kitchen table buffing out the plastic panel. Holy crap it hasn’t gone over well with the wife lol. I have polishing compound sprayed out over the table and a bit of splatter on the wall . Well worth it though lol. I’m sure you guys will recognize this piece even though it’s not in the dash. It is in really rough shape. I don’t know what is covering up the indicators but they were barely visible-> I used the Novus plastic kit with a couple of buffing wheels on my favorite drill -> Half way through the process-> It took some time to get through it all but it came out amazing-> I love when a plan comes together TBC - Rich

I’m getting everything lined up to go into the Comanche when I get it back. I have found some stuff in the “MJ” stash that I forgot I had. I found a (new to me ) transfer case skid plate. I have no clue how I acquired it or how it goes in? Can anyone show me how this is mounted/attached under the truck?

This is just great

Thank you. I am picking up another headliner soon, but I may get bored and try it anyway.

I have found one, within driving distance from me, from a member on here. So thankful that I can just redo the head board in my color . I think I will store this one incase it can be fixed by someone who is capable of repairing it.
