 Someone on here needs to get that. @neohic:brows:. It’s nice to be able to see nice photos of that truck.

Hmm… this is opportunity #3 to have a shot at this truck for me.

it's only going to get more expensive each time. :D

Seems to be the reason I’ve passed on it before. Good to see it available again. This is the only known remaining SCCA Comanche that’s not in a private collection.

Dang -- it's in MY state! And I need a new boiler and a new roof on the hovel.

Timing couldn't be worse. I would SOOOOOO love to have that.

Has anyone else kept an eye on this all week also? I haven’t closed the window since the auction started and it’s getting down to the end. Just got to $7k… long way from where I think it should be.

It's definitely been making me think twice about never being able to afford it. It's surprising considering what used car prices are right now, but I guess the auction isn't over yet.

Sold for $15k. Hopefully that’ll calm down the used market for somewhat low mileage trucks in similar condition. Well bought, I think.

For what it really is, I honestly think that was a fair buy. The truck would be hard to use as a truck anymore and wouldn’t be a terribly quick rig around a track, so it isn’t terribly useable. I think it would be an absolute blast to drive at an auto cross style event, but I don’t think it would be really useable for much else. It does have the fact that it is a part of Jeep racing history going for it though, and if I would’ve had the money, I would have bought it.

Race cars don't really sell very well as people want vehicles that can be used on the street typically.  I'm a fairly active BaT user, I was actually the first person to auction a Comanche on the site.  Consistently, the more modified from stock a vehicle is, the less it is typically worth.

I think this one sold pretty well, definitely would have considered it if I wasn't working on building a house.  I really want to autocross my Comanche, this would have been the perfect one for that.

15k huh; Anybody else catch that the rims on the rear weren't period correct?

Good eye. I missed that detail.

Someone should download all those pictures to the site before the ad listing expires. As said, those are a great resource for a replica or tribute vehicle build. I was really suprised by the rear mono leaf setup, The billet rear sway bar mounts, and what appears to be a mostly stock TBI 2.5. Love it.
