Pete M
anything special about the HO MJs that I'm forgetting? It feels like I'm missing something. something that's unique to the 91-92s. I got a pile of the usual stuff but made sure to snag the fuel pump and the headliner. the engine was already gone and the wire harness was hacked apart dash harness was cut up when someone pulled the cluster was a 2wd auto column shift but the column was seriously jacked up. the whole thing was rotated to the side I think I might try and pull the carpet. I'm definitely going back for the rockers and a couple other little things.
Dzimm
Nothing too special left that I can see. If you are cutting the rockers, I'd say grab the cab corners as well. You shouldn't have an issue getting rid of them later on.
Pete M
oh I will. got a fresh pack of super long sawzall blades can't have too many clean rockers stashed in the barn.
Strokermjcomanche
Spare tire carrier, cab exhausters, are you getting the Colorado red flares for yourself? I don't need them ... just asking .
Pete M
I already took the rears. doesn't look like it in the pics, but the fronts are kinda mangled. spare tire winch is also deformed (the rear bumper sorta... pushed into it a bit ) might still grab that though if I can get it for free. I'd never removed the vents before and they made a cracking noise so I stopped, but I read Dzimm's instrustions and will try again tomorrow. You snagged the whole sending unit? Looking to sell it? Without the engine and electrical bits this discussion narrows quite a bit. One thing that comes to mind is that the 91+ drag link is the same beefier version that is on the ZJ. It would be an upgrade for older trucks if its in decent shape. 89 MJ
Maybe chop out the spot of the frame where the front of the leaf springs mounts for people with rusty frames.
Pete M
I thought about that but then decided that they should be simply adding flat steel to the area instead. grabbed the parking brake and fuse box and even the carpet (for reasons that befuddle me) what's done is done. I've taken all I can justify buying.
Torq_Shep
Could grab the rear window gasket.
Dzimm
Were you able to get the cab vents out in one piece or did they end up crumbling on you?
Pete M
one side came out clean, the other cracked a bit but I still took it. I tried mightily to get the rear window trim but whomever installed that window used waaaaay too much urethane and it kept tearing apart.
Manche757
Curious lack of rust. Floor pans look to be rust free. Too bad the truck was torn apart. Is the bed frame in good enough shape for one of the beds you have on hand to make a trailer? B pillar interior trim should be an always save; hard to come by now. Looks like driver side is gone. Dash looks not to be cracked. Clock still there. Passenger side rear glass. Front rims worth saving?
Minuit
If you wanted to really hate life, I would have suggested you drill the uniframe caps out and send them to me so I have at least something to work with... if the floor on the driver side existed, anyway. Pete M
the truck was rear ended hard enough to push the bed into the cab so hard the door didn't come open without a crowbar and a sawsall. turned the truck into a slight banana shape. not sure if the frame was still perfectly true. I don't own a welder so making a trailer just isn't in the cards for me. gave some thought to the frame caps, but that's a bunch more effort than I really want to do in a junkyard. interior trim is all safely stored away in my barn while ripping out the carpet I discovered the shifter knob so I grabbed that too. that's the bumper you see under the bed, trying desperately to touch the spare tire crank

I personally would just cut the frame rail, take the whole thing together. But I don't expect you to do that for me. But I would appreciate it.
