GreasemonkeySC Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 I'm looking to put a tonneau cover on my 92 short bed. I have seen pasta about using a Ford ranger tonneau, but a 94 S10 is nearly identical by interior measurements of the bed. What did you use?

I saw those. I know they have a good product, but wow! $300 That is likely what I'll go with. $300? Dirt F'ing cheap! And you'll find in time that anytime we can get any parts/accessories for our trucks, you'll be grateful.
PCO6 Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 I posted this Kijiji ad a little over a month ago. I think the MJ has been sold though. I believe the owner had a Ford Ranger tonneau on it. There was a better picture of it from the back of the truck and it looked god.

Limeyjeeper Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 +2 on the Downey cover. Had one on mine for about 8 years. Still going strong
GreasemonkeySC Posted June 10, 2018 Author Posted June 10, 2018 Man that looks great!I'll likely get a cheap $115 eBay tonneau, and modify it. I just grabbed up a toolbox and mounted it today. Still want the tonneau, but it's gonna start at the box!
kriswinner Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Downey is willing to customize the cover for those that have toolboxes. I considered it myself, but I find that I take the toolbox out far too many times to keep it in there permanently.
Minuit Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 How do these fasten to the truck? I see clamps in Limey's post, are those for the cover? I'm very interested in one of these but I'm not interested in modifying my bed for the cover.
Limeyjeeper Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 The rails clamp to the bed lip and the cover has retainers that snap into the rail channel. No cutting or grinding required!!

I don't know the brand, but the support slats/hoops look a lot like the ones in Limeyjeeper's photo. It was useless. The snaps didn't hold it because the Naugahyde cover had shrunk. Any time I drive more than 40 MPH the thing would start to peel off. I gave up on it. If I were going to get a cover for one of mine, I'd go for one of the hard covers.
GreasemonkeySC Posted June 27, 2018 Author Posted June 27, 2018 Anyone use a hard shell tonneau from a Ford ranger?I've got a line on an Undercover hard tonneau for only $ 250 with hardware.
Shharks Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Had this one for 10 plus years, tir fold, no drilling holes, Fits great! https://www.tonnopro.com/just/tonno-pro-42-304-tonno-fold-tri-fold-soft-tonneau-cover

Edit: I saw the side shot of the truck. Wondering about a pic from the rear looking down the bed rail at the alignment between the cover and the bed.
ghetdjc320 Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 @Limeyjeeper has probably one of the best covers made. It’s an aluminum slat retractable cover. Super nice. I was in the process of getting one ordered but it wouldn’t fit with my hylift jack aver the wheel well. I run the Downey now. A trifold would be nice as well if it didn’t take up any extra bed space
