Guess who completely forgot how flammable brake cleaner is? Now guess who hosed down his brakes with it? Then guess who tried to torch off a bolt on the control arm? Guess who needs to replace everything on the drivers side?

Cleaned out the rear smaller CCV tube and jerry rigged the front one that is cracked (can't find a replacement part for the front anywhere)

If I EVER find the sonofa that invented the scotch lock, I am going to beat him with a wiring harness.

Those retched devices seem to make stupid people think they can wire stuff. Went to hook up the trailer to the '92, and the lights were dim. Knowing the trailer was good, went straight for the throat on the '92, and found this:

Some idiot decided that was a good way to extend the trailer wires, which were about 10 feet longer than they needed to be. Now its properly done with heat shrink butt connectors.

And the lights actually work now! Imagine that! :fool:

Looks like I should have looked at more than just the wiring... On the way home, the trailer popped loose at 60 MPH... I caught the moment it happened in the rearview... I had looked back out of habit, and all of a sudden saw yellow spark arcing over the trailer, tried to slow it down, but it went crazy, hopped side to side a bunch (enough to see the tongue in the side mirror lit up by brake lights), and slammed into the back of the MJ a few times before I could stop. No major damage, one good dent in the tailgate, but I am replacing the bed/gate in due time anyway. Hooked it back up, and drove 20 miles home. Could have been MUCH worse. Not even a little pissed/bummed considering the potential for carnage, and the not-so-bad outcome. (Well besides my nerves... :ack: )

Pics of the dent tomorrow. Still can't hold the camera still enough for it to focus. :clapping:

you crossed your safety chains, yes?

Yep. One flew/jumped/got knocked off, because when I came to a stop, there was but one still attached.

You should get hooks with the springy things so they can't fall off.

I agree, thats the first thing I get for a trailer saftey chain setup. The load bearing type of of those loops like climbers use with the spring loaded closer.... or whatever theyre called. Available at any Lowes on the rope and chain area, or any hardware store for that matter.

rotated the diff to the "close enough" pinion angle and tightened down the U-bolts. still stuck on the one bad T-bolt. :( yes I could just replace it with a regular bolt, but now I'm obsessed with why I can't just go get a new freakin' T-bolt. :fs1: they used to be common in axles. thinking on a trip out to the junkyard tomorrow should napa fail me too. :brows:

once I get everything buttoned up, we back out of the garage and putter on down to a shop to get the perches burned in place.

then I'll have REAR WHEEL DRIVE as an option! woo hoo!

Well, got some pics.

The whole shebang. 10 X 7.5 Suncast Vinyl shed and 2 X 6 foundation boards.

Where the tongue kissed the tailgate and bumper.

It doesn't look like much, but TRUST me when I say I thought I was about to loose it when that trailer started catching air, and jumping side to side, tires screeching.

But, had to be excited that that was the only damage I received.

the 88 is sitting on it's tires again. :D rear axle is together and rear driveshaft is installed. Tomorrow I'll dig out the mess that has blocked it in and go for a test drive. jamminz.gif

yeah. I've been meaning to snap a shot of her in with her new paint but wearing the big tires. :brows: I'd have to dig out said tires and mount them up so we'll see how the day goes.

Removed a pink and black pinstripe all the way around with a rubber eraser wheel on a Milwaukee drill, then took it into the woods for probably the last time this season.

Lately,

Put speakers behind each grill for the CB.

Replaced the drivers mirror with one that actually has the adjuster working. Pick n pull special.

Replaced the rubber trim around windows.

New muffler and pipe, the harder part was getting the old one out.

Put some blue accent lighting under the dash, and red lights by the instrument panel.

Did an oil change, with a Fram oil filter. Greased nipples.

Changed the fuel filter, about 2 tablespoons of water came out of it. Ummmm.

Took in the view while working on the Jeep. There was another 2 cruisers to the left of the picture.

They stopped a pick up with a bunch of natives riding in the back of the pick up.

:Canadaflag: I think there's more...... oh yah, touched up some rust spots, used POR 15 and replaced the stick shift knob.
