Cruised on over to the Jeep dealership here by the inlaws with my MJ, To ask about this JK-8 Kit truck

What a waste that was they knew nothing of it, Then tried to make ma a trade in offer on my MJ

She told the sales man "You couldn't afford this in your wildest dreams" . . . How cool is that ? My girl stuck up for my MJ ! ! !

I've been insulted a couple of times at dealerships.

I think Chrysler has memo'd there Jeep dealers to be dislike Jeep truck people, Its like they are saying buy a RAM or get your Jeep truck off my lot ! ! !

I've watched many friends with Jeeps get treated better with SUV's then Jeep trucks.

Buddy had an 85' XJ-Cherokee they convinced him to restore it ! ! ! Yet a year later he stops in for a light bulb n some wiper blades for his mint condition lo mileage J/10 Honcho shortbed stepside and they treated him like dirt ! ! !

Seriously how I feel they were trained ;)

dragged it home jamminz.gif proper introduction/drawn out build thread soon to follow

:wrench: Nice project looking forward to it :wrench:

Drove one to work and back, and looked at the other sitting in the garage in disgust.

 I can relate, My MJ was a cheapie and its been a great truck, My FSJ is a big pile of parts that costs money to ge and I'll have a ton more invested before I get to find out weather it was worth while :fs1:

Just changed the oil and oil filters on 4 MJ'S and two XJ'S, That's 6, 5 qt plastic bottles of Valvolene 10-30 synthetic, and 6 filters. They had been running on straight 10-30. A couple weeks ago I poured a can of sea foam in each of their crankcases. Hopefully it flushed them out pretty good and they will be good for many a more miles, :wrench:

Taught the wife the basics of driving a stick-shift in the old MJ today. She's got the starting off figured out pretty well using the clutch only, no gas. That's the hardest part, in my opinion. Next lesson will be actual shifting.

I drove two hours out to Barstow to look at a used SnugTop camper shell off a 91 Chevy S-10. I was all excited because it was in really good condition and I had read where the early S-10 shells were a good fit for our MJs. The guy wanted $150, but when I talked to him, he said $100.

The shell was exactly as advertised, but the fit left a lot to be desired. The length and width were just about perfect. The height and the fit to the back of the cab were way off. Sure, it would've worked just fine, but it would've driven me crazy looking at it every day.

So the search continues for a clean, cheap shell. Now I read where the early Rangers are a good fit.

Oh, on the way back home, I stopped off at a junkyard and there was an 88 Comanche. The only thing I grabbed off of it was the tailgate latch, because I know people are looking for these sometimes. There was not much else worth pulling. I was looking for a right taillight because I just noticed this week that mine is cracked. But alas, the one in the junkyard was also cracked.
