  1. Check the harmonic balancer. I had one spin and throw the engine off balance.
  2. Downey sells vinyl covers that fit our trucks. I have a fiberglass on off something that fits pretty good.
  3. Put me down for the first set!
  4. That was the one. Thanks Don. I hope it works out for you Adam.
  5. It happens pretty often. I jumped a XJ once and broke the bosses off the block. There is a motor mount vendor that has a plate that pulls in a few more mounting points. Once I remember who it was I'll link it.
  6. SWB sliders are what we need. DEW ET!!!
  7. Take the ATF out and replace it with power steering fluid. There is a difference.
  8. The shaft should be OK.
  9. Don't. The 27 spline 8.25 is not much stronger than a D35. You would be going backwards.
  10. It's called a beauty ring or trim ring. The chance of finding an exact match is slim. It is best to buy a new set of four.
  11. V8s tend to have the bigger bar but nothing is set in stone. Check it before you buy it.
  12. Unbolt MJ sway bar, bolt on ZJ sway bar. That's it. Just make sure that you are using the right size bushing for the bar. 28MM bar needs 28MM bushings and so on.
  13. The spring will have a tag on it or you have to find the build sheet or contact Jeep to get a build sheet.
  14. If I know Scott, which I do. He used Spidertrax spacers.
  15. I have a 2010 Caliber, 5 speed, with 33k on it that I'd sell you. It is my wife's daily. I personally like the car. She just doesn't want it anymore.
  16. I give up. Remove your VIN, swap out the Rosette rivets for standard ones, show it to a LEO and get your truck impounded and crushed. There are ways to get the VIN replaced. None of them legally are a DIY job.
  17. It is not legal in the US, period. 10751. (a) No person shall knowingly buy, sell, offer for sale, receive, or have in his or her possession, any vehicle, or component part thereof, from which any serial or identification number, including, but not limited to, any number used for registration purposes, that is affixed by the manufacturer to the vehicle or component part, in whatever manner deemed proper by the manufacturer, has been removed, defaced, altered, or destroyed, unless the vehicle or component part has attached thereto an identification number assigned or approved by the department in lieu of the manufacturer's number. http://forums.officer.com/t130658/
  18. Are those dents all through the cage on the bends?
  19. Please do not post that on the open forum. It is not legal to remove the VIN number from the dash. PM him the information if he asks for it. To swap the dash is legal. Swapping VIN plates is not, ever. No matter the reason why. If you swap the dash and the VIN changes the proper action is to take the vehicle to the local PD and have them verify the VIN on the body and issue a NEW tag. Which will be totally different from the factory VIN.
  20. Nothing. They work too.
  21. Typical Bama fan...
  22. I do like them. I have a dream of one day cloning the Thunder Chief.
  23. They suck, sell it to me!
  24. You can't change just the "pad". It is all one piece with the dash. You have to either paint your stock dash or replace the whole entire dashboard. When you replace the dash the VIN will go with it.
  25. Sell your trans and transfer combo and pick up the correct transmission. The wiring is super temperamental in the 97-99 and even more so with the 00-01s. You will thank yourself for swapping the transmissions later on. I did a 97+ conversion, if this little issue has you this twisted up I suggest you read the DIY section on 97+ swaps and get a good feel for it before you go any further. This may not be the swap for you. NOTHING in the MJ will work with the newer wiring. Not even the fuel tank or tail light wiring.
