Theres some issues to address and clear to be coated but holy crap! I have a painted truck! I can see some dents. Lol. She’s a thirty year old truck. I was lucky to see any before this happened. What I’m curious about is how different is the 96 XJ harness to just not give any power to the switch? Everything else on that headlight bulk head works except power to the switch to go to the lights. Unless such wasn’t wired right or there’s a fuse or relay that is bad somewhere.

I’m pretty stumped on this too. I’ve been talking with him for a while on this issue and he addressed it today. Granted he’s all the way on the other end of the valley so I can only go off of what I know. I think he’s not getting any power at the switch to send down the line to the lamps, so I think there’s something wrong between the PDC or battery to the switch itself. The LED on the switch does not light up at all to indicate power when the headlights are on. Anyone got anything?

It really boils down to rust. That’s what everyone will tell you. It looks good from the picture but until you go and take a look at it and check it’s undercarriage and such, $4000 doesn’t seem terrible.

I had a NOS short bed set for a while till I sold them. That is the style for our trucks as they fit the whole box scheme. I’d imagine when these parts were around was the nineties. But almost all of us probably entered the MJ scene a tad bit late to snag goodies like this in a junk yard.

Turn signal new metal style- 3764863. For the side markers, they are not serviceable. You’ll have to find an aftermarket to fit. I know crown makes the turn signal socket. Try this number 56018638. But it seems like both numbers don’t show up at all to cross reference to crown. Not even the old 83501000 number doesn’t show up.

Cherokee door swap and seats have been done. Those aren’t original factory panels or seats. So my best guess is they swapped those with ease but didn’t do a full 97+ swap.

Only the TBI injected years for the 2.5L will work. You probably could get away with using similar construction of tubing.

96-02 for the AN Dakota. TJs should have it too. There are no new ones left.

Bucket seats and power everything could be had from the factory. If there’s a VIN I can look up the build sheet and can see if it was ever a swap or factory.

Actually that front broken piece is supposed to have a line that connects to that and goes to the evap canister. Mine was broken for forever until I found a new Renix lid.

Damn. I really need to remember to take pictures of my progress. But I forget and am excited. All the sanding is done except for the upper half of the drivers side door. Once the passenger side is all good and painted, then the drivers side will be sanded and finished in one shot. Good news is there was not a single ounce of bondo anywhere on the body. Bad news is there is some body damage that just minor dents that were fixed using a stud welder and some bondo to fill in. Otherwise all rust has been addressed which there hardly was any for an AZ truck. Now to fix the tail gate and get that done up too.

I would try charging it before the water and see if it has any volts

Sometimes batteries can unexpectedly die or fail if they have been used for testing too much. If it is the liquid type you could probably get away with topping it off with distilled water and let it trickle charge. Do you have a volt meter of any kind to see if it still has any volts?

How new is the battery?
