  1. Nice! I can't imagine what you would be thinking when needing to stop fast and not have that fixed, great job! Buck
  2. Wow, that is really clean. Great work! Buck

    CC Handles

I almost asked one time if that has to do with the band, great band it is! Buck.
  4. So glad you are doing better Jeremy, that sounds scary. Take care of yourself and hope you get some answers soon so you can get back to being able to drive and work. Rest and try to enjoy your down time.
  5. I think I lucked into mine being what it is today, mainly because I didn't do anything stupid and wreck it or get hit then found the right person to paint it when it was ready to retire. Over the years I have been slowly upgrading the small stuff. I still use it as a truck but try not to abuse it, always has been 2wd and I don't have any desire or need to convert it. It has earned its retirement so my daughter will probably see if I or the mj last another 30 years.
  6. That is very interesting, I have seen 2, maybe 3 in the last year here in Central Florida. Do you think there is a specific reason why there are still so many in your area? Any salt on the roads during the winter?
  7. That looks great! Being from the Midwest I grew up with a basement, my did finished ours out when we were young, great getaway place. Now being in Florida for a good chunk of my life, haven't had one but really miss it from time to time.
  8. While looking through your updates Rich I was thinking it would be nice to shoot over and give you a hand and of course realizing even though I and many others have more free time we can't spend it with others, damn. Glad you didn't get hurt. I make sure that when I get up on the roof that someone is home, took a header off the step ladder 2 years ago and dislocated a rib, I was not alone then but it could have been much worse, and I am even very careful on ladders, gravity is an amazing thing.
  9. Awesome build! Thanks for sharing. Buck.
  10. Welcome to the mj addiction, I guess you didn't learn your lesson with your 2 other Jeeps and really are a glutton for punishment! Sounds like a great project, looking forward to pics. Stay safe and if you are like me and many others, we will be getting some work in on our mjs over the next, hopefully, few weeks. Buck.
  11. Hope you are feeling better! Take care of yourself hope it gets better for everyone soon!
  12. I went to the Daytona LKQ to get the brake booster off of a "96 XJ. It was only there a few days when I got to it. There were no interior pics other than the dash so I have a feeling this is how it showed up. Maybe someone ran out of time or money redoing the floors? I did get the brake booster, and the hole in the driver's floor helped me stretch out a bit and the open frame rail gave me a place to keep the tools! Buck.
  13. Since I have more free time I am doing little projects also. I am continuing to clean up the engine bay. I also took off the header panel support rail so I could paint it and the top cross member.
  14. My wife and I have been married for almost 20 years and she makes a snide comment from time to time about me never having taken her out and teaching her how to drive my mj which is a 5 speed. She did drive it years ago on a road trip so I could rest but we started in a gravel parking lot next to the interstate so it really wasn't driving a stick. At one point I really was trying to baby an old clutch but I have had a new one for a while now and should get her out. Someday I hope to come across a deal on an xj since I am feeling more and more comfortable working on this platform, thanks to CC and threads like yours! Buck.
  15. Great work! Way to save it from the crusher!
  16. I assumed he got them because he stopped replying to our PM conversation.

    What books to read

If you like Orwell"s 1984, Down And Out In Paris And London is his trials and tribulations as a struggling writer in those to cities, quick and entertaining read. Buck.
  18. Great work and congrats on getting it back to a respectable state! Looking good! Buck.
  19. That is awesome Rich! One thing I am having Anastasia do is watch a specific video on how to correctly wash a car and then wash one of the cars that way, will see how well she does. She is several years older than your son so hope she can handle it and learn how to do it the right way from the start. Your rig is awesome, always great to see your updates. Buck.

    Went to Moab:

Beautiful area, thanks for sharing your journey!
  21. Congratulations, cool truck! I am somewhat of a purist but on the other hand I do believe in "to each his own". Such a unique design, one of a kind for sure! Bet that is fun on a road track! Buck.
  22. PM sent
  23. I decided to upgrade my fuel injectors, bought a set of remanufactured 4 hole injectors from K Suspension and got them installed last week. Unfortunately I had to wait until this week to start it because when putting the fuel rail back together the 30 year old plastic clips for the release of the return line broke. Ordered a fuel line repair kit from Amazon, went right in and the mj fired up. It runs much better. It didn't run bad before but it is such a noticeable difference, wish I would have done it earlier. After watching a few You Tube videos, one mentioned to scrape out the carbon build up around the injector ports, glad I had seen that video, there was so much build up on a few, wondering if some of the better performance is from that. I used a small pic and got a lot out on to the heat shield then I taped a tube the size of the port to my shop vac and tried to get more out, the mj sputtered at first but settled down pretty quick. I just filled up the tank tonight and will check mpg over the next few days and see how that is going.
  24. Wow, that is a nice find! And that is awesome you are keeping it stock and unmolested. Do you know yet how close to the end of the Comanche productions yours is?
