  1. Wow, congrats on mjotm, great build and what a great use of down time. That would have taken me forever! Buck.
  2. Is it just me or does the trim look totally out of place with the bed being upside down? I thought someone put some aftermarket junk on it and then realized my mj had trim molding when it was new, looks fine right side up. Buck.
  3. Thanks Jeremy for the update, glad you were able to get away and get some down time, hope you get the rest now. Great pics, thanks for sharing! Buck.
  4. Thanks for sharing Pete, I hadn't seen it yet. Did you take the pic? That is wrong on so many levels that may cause some very bad things happening before they got to their destination. I would not want to be behind it but would worry trying to pass it even if I could do it quickly. Buck.

Thanks Jeff for the updates, I am keeping an eye on that one also, could go just about anywhere but definitely understand your discomfort. Ever since '04 here in Central Florida just hearing the word hurricane gets my blood pressure up. That year sucked so bad, three hurricanes, we had 22 days without electricity. Before the 2nd hurricane I stood in line at a tool store for 4 hours waiting for a truck of generators while holding our 5 month old daughter, fortunately they let anyone with kids stand inside in the a/c. Our biggest tree which was an 80' tall pine uprooted and fell on the neighbors house but also lifted and broke our water supply. We had to have 4 more of those pines dropped before the 3rd hurricane because the root systems were lifting during the 2nd hurricane. When we got the electricity back after the 3rd storm and all the generators were turned off it was the strangest silence I have ever heard. Buck.
  6. Looking great! Buck.

    tailgate tuesday

Wow, Pete, you never cease to amaze me, awesome haul!
  8. I am happy with the rebuilt 4 hole injectors I bought from K Suspension. I have heard he takes care of problems but also tries to make sure the injectors match well before shipping them out to the customer. Buck.
  9. Congrats Scott, that is an amazing job, very inspiring! Buck.
  10. Great to hear that you are on the mends, glad you have a doctor who is wanting a different result from the meds. Keep taking it easy when you need. I wish I had the time to do more woodworking. Most all my woodworking tools are bench top tools, I can spread them out in the garage when I pull the 2 cars out, I have been happy with that setup and the tools are adequate to do what I need them to do.
  11. Yeah Pete, that is what I was thinking, no room for error if there is ever anything in the road or it has crap shocks going over any bumps or tracks.
  12. Scott. That. Is. Awesome. I would put a whole page of drool emojis up but that would not give your mj justice and it would annoy the hell out of everyone. Buck.
  13. That looks great!
  14. That is looking great! I hope your neighbors saw your brother crashing there, it will give them more to complain and be upset about. "They are turning it into a rental apartment!"
  15. Congrats and well deserved mjotm. I am in awe of so many of the builds on this forum, from simple to epic, but I really appreciate seeing some of them kept as original as possible, but I am biased though. Buck.
  16. Great work and thanks for sharing! Buck.
  17. Wow, great work and that is awesome you found it and are doing such an awesome job. Pete mentioned about checking with an upholstery shop for the seat material. I have the same material in grey and I found what the supplier said was the last 3 yards in existence. It is the center "webbed" material. The surrounding smooth pleather material can probably be found, my upholsterer had to replace some of that same smooth material because of the type of stitch and you can tell it is a little different but you have to look closely. If you want I can search through my receipts and see if I can find who I bought it from. Please pm me so I do see it sooner rather than later. Keep up the great work and updates coming! Buck.
  18. These mad fab skills some of you guys have blow me away. Very impressive, looking forward to the updates! Buck.
  19. What I have seen and learned is that no one currently makes a fiberglass topper for the long bed or short bed mj, you have to find a used one and even have it shipped, that is what I did 10 years ago. I would stay away from anything that is not mj specific, I have seen pics of some of those toppers and the more you look the worse it gets. They might look ok from the side but when you look from the back the angle of the sides of the topper is different than the cab and really is an eye sore. Search for a used one, they are out there, you may have to wait but like everything with our trucks this site and google will be your best source. Buck.
  20. Thanks for the info Ollie, going to start collecting parts so it's not such a shock all at once. When I got my truck repainted the first time 20 years ago I was going to the put pioneer stripes back on but liked the look without them. When I got it repainted again 10 years ago I still felt the same, mine is grey and the stripes are just darker grey, I really like the contrast of your pioneer stripes, looks great. Buck.
  21. PM sent Buck.
  22. Awesome work! From another 89 mj owner, looking great and I am jealous about the ac, need to get it replaced so I can drive mine in comfort here in blistery Florida! Buck.
  23. Wow, that would not stay on the road in a bad storm with any amount of wind. The aerodynamics probably had that engine screaming! Buck.

    Out of the loop

'04 sucked for us here in Central Florida. Between hurricanes Charley, Francis and Jean we were without power for 20 something days total. Our daughter was 5 months old and I stood in line for 4 hours with her waiting for a delivery of generators to a tool store, that was just before Francis. Got one big enough to power the fridge, a 110 window ac unit and a few lights and fans and that really worked well. All power lines where we lived were above ground and there was a lot of damage. During Charley we lost our biggest tree, 80 year old, at least 80 feet tall southern pine, uprooted and landed on the neighbors house. We had to drop 4 more pines just before the 3rd hurricane, they were starting to uproot from the massive rains we got from the 2nd hurricane. And then '05 came with Katrina and made me feel fortunate we didn't have that one. Be safe with the chainsaw and climbing, stay hydrated and get your rest! Buck
  25. Great news!
