you just learned from your own experience and solved your current problem. replace the lifters and enjoy your day.

buy tablets now as gone up and be in high demand and short supply.

for that matter then plan to change out the sand.but varies on use and dirtyness. backwash it once a month. check baskets and ensure a good dip net. the stock up on noodles and squirt guns. and so need a hoop set up.

did you replace or check it anyways sand that is? gaskets are no biggie, worse case is pump line under pool is cracked. keep eye on water level as well. some unions seal back up once running again others are just dryrotted and prolly due for new.

unions check valves may be good after a bit running depending on the maintenence history? was is winterized?

upper hose be still when running as water is being pumped through. squeeze in hand should bounce right back and thinning of walls with older hoses can be seen with inspections. lower hose should also have a spring in it to help in the anti-collapsing . sounds like you may have a weak pump, and if its new to you, as you haven't did this already, then id would just plan to replace pump just for good measure. not to say drive it a bit and see if it wasnt just that cap and some air. water is flowing either way. but does it maintain temp...

also you can park up hill when trying to burp system, it will help as some air could get trapped.
