  1. upper hose be still when running as water is being pumped through. squeeze in hand should bounce right back and thinning of walls with older hoses can be seen with inspections. lower hose should also have a spring in it to help in the anti-collapsing . sounds like you may have a weak pump, and if its new to you, as you haven't did this already, then id would just plan to replace pump just for good measure. not to say drive it a bit and see if it wasnt just that cap and some air. water is flowing either way. but does it maintain temp...
  2. also you can park up hill when trying to burp system, it will help as some air could get trapped.
  3. no you put on shelf it will be used, not a waste of money when maintenance parts.
  4. yeah you can burp it there some. its a spot for temp sensor
  5. poor thing don't want to get dirty.
  6. so whats the specs for those needing reference?
  7. yeah i still think lifter. pull valve cover and take a gander i reckon.
  8. nice to see how far this forum has come.
  9. well cleaned out the MJ and packed it to hit the woods again and do a little fishing. figured id wait a bit to let this brief cold spell go through. And today its snowing. I'm ready for summer time with the warm nights. soon very soon.

  11. 5k
  12. have you considered use of a stand alone orbital hydro steering setup?
  13. push rods should be touching and yes not returning like others. do that cold test though per tests. I'm listening again and feel its a lifter for sure if not 2. thinking 4 and 6 are weak.
  14. i threw mine away long ago like other stock tid bits that are wanted now a days.
  15. internal failure. pull it lube it up with some graphite spray. replace it otherwise.
  16. have you verified power to the fuel pump? have a ballast resistor on the fender? have you changed the fuel filter? do you get fuel at the rail? do your hear the fuel pump turn on?
  17. i picked up a shift fork off ebay for 94 xj for like $20. then got flywheel clutch kit from rockauto for 94 cherokee. then also needed slave to master line yet at auto parts store for $80. or go to novak as they have the components as well.
  18. not typically no. little thicker and seen junk flywheels from starters and only heard 2 times of flywheel issues at crank due to bolts not tightened down. but i understood your terminologies and further more still suggest inspection cover pulling for a peek and checking lifters fully. but hey your world boss do the work.
  19. and to be clear this is assuming its an auto using the word "flexplate" but has yet to confirm weather its auto or manual.
  20. true, but whos to say not if havent even pulled inspection cover to take a peak. makes sense per loading principals. I would be more inclined to assume lifter with the history, however can't hurt to check either way.
  21. gotta cap those shafts, loose to much oil your shafts will be empty and dry out and shatter. quick get some blinker fluid should hold you over I reckon.
