    I would scuff and paint some chrome junkyard XJ handles. If I remember right, rear handles are the same as front if you want to grab ones that have been used less.

    from any junkyard? ouch. have you searched with google maps? I've found some unknown out-of-the-way junkyards that way. ok, well, what functions do you want out of your console?

    most any overhead console can work (as long as it's not too long and you're brave enough to cut into your headliner). sounds like it's time to hit the junkyard and poke around 'til you find something you like. I prefer a place to stash my sunglasses.

    can't this year. was super close to being able to hit it on the return trip south, but I'm still in GA through July and then drive north in august. timing was just off.

    I spy an AAL in that pack. the 44 snout is an inch longer than the 35 so yeah, I don't think either rear shaft will work.

    the coal burners are dirty, dirty things. all sorts of particulates exit that stack. but I love 'em. got to do the Durango/Silverton line when I was a kid.
