  1. 3.73s are fairly common under ZJs too. and like the TJ, they are low pinion. car-part.com can help with junkyard searches.
  2. car-part.com can be helpful in junkyard searches
  3. we need a DIY thread about bed removal. looking for volunteers to either find a tech thread that's worthy or to start their own. I know we've had good ones in the past, but my searching skills seem to be lacking today.
  4. thou shalt check the classifieds daily for commanche, comanchee, and camanche parts
  5. as long as the t-case handle shifts smoothly, you shouldn't get stuck in 4wd. having said that, perfectly working trucks can sometimes be a bear to shift back out depending on the bind in the drivetrain so don't freak out if you have to drive a few feet before the handle can be pushed back down. on the other end of the spectrum... when I first bought my 90, the handle was so rusted in place that it had to be disconnected underneath and the t-case shifted out of 4wd with an adjustable wrench so I could drive home.
  6. thou shalt laugh hysterically when wrangler owners complain about their lack of interior space.
  7. 84-86 will also work if you do some swapping of the speedo gear clips but a cluster from a 4banger will need tweaking of the tach to be right for a 6.
  8. I promise, with 4.10s and 33s they are definitely not "too high". but back to the question, all you need is an 87-90 cluster with tach and then swap your oil pressure and coolant temp switches for sending units so those guages work.
  9. so purty.... I am such a sucker for a clean, white longbed MJ. :rock on:
  10. nice find Bo  anyone have an idea of how big a tire they can run? has the aftermarket come up with any bumpers?
  11. I think 300 hp will keep a smile on your face :D no need to test the limits of your engine unless it's for competition like the camaro guys. you're definitely going to want that AX-15 conversion. the AX-5 won't last long behind that power level. :(
  12. if the switch works and you have power at the switch, then it is possible that the power is stopping at the rear harness connector located behind the drivers side rear tire. that connector killed my brake lights once and I found it so horribly rotted that I had to cut it out and replace it. :(
  13. nice :D that light bar location should keep the glare off the hood.
  14. I vote for "Gladiator" because it's one of the coolest vehicle names ever. :D
  15. I would also contact HC to double check specs on that center pin.
  16. while it is normal to have some of that, his seems a bit excessive to my eye. :dunno: could easily be fixed by drilling a new center pin hole in the leaf pad.
  17. love that uhaul :D
  18. yes, but I seem to remember there's a new contact person. or maybe I'm thinking of something else. did you try calling?
  19. I have a flashlight that puts out 800 lumens with a single led. it's insane the amount of light it emits (more than most cars' headlights) and I'm trying to imagine 100 of them all pointed the same direction.
  20. nice lights :D those look pretty decent for a pair of 2x6s
  21. I was directing that to Jacobs, but any and all pics of the light output are certainly welcome :D soon as I have spendin' money I'm getting LEDs. build quality and light output quality are things that simply cannot be ascertained from the ads alone.
  22. not mine. :D the hinge makes a world of difference. unless you're referring to having to pick up the tire each time, in which case, yes, it can be a pain if your back isn't up to the task. also, we can't see your photo.
  23. http://comancheclub.com/topic/38265-how-to-make-your-posts-look-awesome-pics-links-videos-etc/
  24. couldn't find a pic so I drew one up. yes, I've got mad MS Paint skillz yo. :D the red is 2x2 tubing, the dots are holes for hitch pins, the orange is angle brackets on the 3x5 tube bumper, and the hinge point between the 2x2 tubes is a couple plates welded to one of the 2x2s. one pin dropped it to the ground (made for a nice step up to the 6" lifted bronco) and one more pin in the hitch freed it for removal. should be easy to elaborate the upper part with an angle like desert racers have. didn't help the rear departure angle though. :P
