  1. If Campbell's IFS parts came under the new Comanche, I'm sure they'd sell like hotcakes . :MJ 1: .
  2. I do understand your argument, but modern baja trucks are doing 100+. I'm not sure that's really considered "trail riding". :D plus they are usually 2wd so there's no complicated drive mechanisms to break up front. but that aside, the big problem with IFS is that factory setups are usually engineered for the street and are pretty weak once the trail gets rougher. and adding lift and upgrading the innards can be quite costly because of the complicated designs and how integrated into the frame/engine/trans they sometimes are. :(
  3. welcome to the addiction! :waving:
  4. It's just a concept so far. I do admire what the designers were able to do given what they were forced to work with. the old-school 715 cues really take the edge off of the original car's design. if it does go into production, I doubt it'll look this interesting.
  5. and a crewcab m715
  6. they also unveiled a hellcat powered wrangler:
  7. well, if you're into IFS/IRS that is.
  8. pretty much random. there are so many great trucks that we just sort of pick one and run with it.
  9. :( so sad :( he was an awesome guy. I was lucky enough to be able to tag along on a couple of his crazy MJ adventures. good times :D he will be missed :(
  10. putting the springs on top gives about 5-6 inches of lift. how much lift is up front? did he move the perches on the XJ axle? XJs and MJs have their perches in different widths apart.
  11. dang. if there's no edge, then that plan won't work. :( is it too late for the grease trick? not sure where you drilled the holes. as long as the fit of the device you're hammering in is tight enough, the hydraulic force should be able to dislodge it.
  12. have you tried a pilot bushing puller?
  13. have you done the relay upgrade yet?
  14. be sure to wear goggles while doing that.
  15. I disconnect mine.
  16. this one: http://comancheclub.com/topic/11581-ba105-to-ax15-or-aw4-swap-info/ and if you haven't seen it, we have a spiffy new master index: http://comancheclub.com/topic/48710-diy-projects-writeups-master-search-index/
  17. um, I'm not sure that anything will work right. how would you even plug it in? are the plugs compatible? that's Renix vs OBD2
  18. does the swap thread in the DIY forum mention anything about it?
  19. I saw a picture on facebook not that long ago and it was definitely XJ leaves on an MJ. the shackle pointed forwards and was parallel with the leaves. very bad. ther are a couple manufacturers out there that make stock MJ leaves. also car-part.com might be of help finding them in junkyards. be wary of the used ones and inspect them thoroughly. the leaves have a bad habit of cracking at the bolt.
  20. can you share a picture of the springs you have?
  21. very nice :D but you might want to get yourself a program that clips vids so you don't have 25 seconds of dead air. the general populous is trending towards infinite impatience. sad but true.
  22. my 88 has a huge Borla. very subdued at idle, sounds great when the skinny pedal gets mashed into the carpet. :D
  23. not enough rust. rust is vital for keeping an old Jeep running right.
  24. dang. I'm planning on being out there in late may. missed it by that much. oh well. I'll come visit once you're settled in. . :MJ 1: .
