  1. sorta. I replaced the aging radiator in the 88 with one that had a cap, but I kept the old system. I did it out of laziness, but maybe my subconscious just wanted to confuse future owners :D
  2. super 35, eh? dare to be different! :D you're going to love the 4.88 gears
  3. details on the rig?
  4. there are a couple ways to remove the gall bladder, one has an easy recovery, the other is far more invasive and has a much longer recovery. the worse one is reserved for when there are complications. either way they should have told you why they're are doing what they're doing.
  5. you say that, but once it's in CO and you're easy driving from some of the best trails out there, you might be able to find a stray weekend here or there and make up for lost time :D
  6. Don, can you throw together a DIY post? I'd love to have a thread there for future referencing. :D
  7. you should probably put those questions in a separate thread
  8. I had success with a heavy duty ratchet strap. was still a pain in the butt.
  9. yeah, matching the angle of the current pads doesn't involve having the new axle under the truck. and all muffler shops have a guy that knows how to weld. :D it's about as easy a weld-job as there can be. getting the perches correct left-to-right has proven a challenge for some out in internetland , so measure thrice. (and make sure you're measuring from the right places as the diff isn't quite centered in an 8.8)
  10. there's always the option of simply adding more oil until you're finished with the axle. been there, done that.
  11. maybe if it had ever been built that way it might qualify as the worse, but I guess we'll never know. :D
  12. :rotf:
  13. very nice... but his 86 did NOT come with a Peugeot BA-10. :D

you mean the red one? that would be Ben (neohic). Ask Katie, she knows what's going on.
  16. almost. :D it was always on my wish list.

    Hot dog!

    nice!
  18. that sucks indeed. maybe they accidentally left it out? I mean, there can't possibly be a good reason for skipping that, right?
  19. I made a build thread for it somewhere
  20. you can paint all you want... you can't hide the rust that starts up inside the bed. most guys don't even know about it.
  21. that's the rustiest looking wheel I've ever seen on a rust free truck. optical illusion?

    Roof racks

what holds the bar in? can you wiggle it at all with your hands? as long as the clamping force is fully engaged, I don't see why it wouldn't be fine. but on the other hand, piece of mind is piece of mind. there certainly wouldn't be any harm in getting the longer ones.
  23. front was bone stock with WJ lower control arms, rear was a custom pack but stock height. rims are TJ canyons which are 8" wide but same backspacing.
  24. keep in mind that Don only has rear spacers. you'll probably have some rubbing issues up front if you add spacers to a truck that is essentially stock (4wd height) on 31s. 31s juuuuust barely fit a stock 4wd on 31s with stock rims. spacers opens up your scrub radius and pushes the corners of the tires into your fenders while turning.
