  1. full distributor or just the cap? if the whole thing was replaced, check that the distributor was installed correctly. it's very easy to be off a tooth.
  2. I'm still planning on visiting in late May and will be happy to help you out with organizing your stuff for sale, Jim.
  3. neat! :D those are some baaaaaaald tires though.
  4. 700 is a lot for a trans. :(
  5. I have it. PM sent
  6. you should be able to rotate the housings and get them to turn on without the door circuit. can't remember if it's up or down.
  7. really wish I could rescue one too, but haven't the space or money to do so. :( I'll have to settle for smaller parts when I visit in May :D
  8.
  9. nice! think you could throw together an official DIY thread for them?
  10. take lots of pictures and start your own thread!
  11. oh! or try unlocking the inside and outside at the same time. that worked for me once.
  12. nah, that's more of a remove-the-interior-panel-and-yank-on-the-unlock-rod type of thing. hopefully it just needs some wd-40 to loosen it up.
  13. If Campbell's IFS parts came under the new Comanche, I'm sure they'd sell like hotcakes . :MJ 1: .
  14. I do understand your argument, but modern baja trucks are doing 100+. I'm not sure that's really considered "trail riding". :D plus they are usually 2wd so there's no complicated drive mechanisms to break up front. but that aside, the big problem with IFS is that factory setups are usually engineered for the street and are pretty weak once the trail gets rougher. and adding lift and upgrading the innards can be quite costly because of the complicated designs and how integrated into the frame/engine/trans they sometimes are. :(
  15. welcome to the addiction! :waving:
  16. It's just a concept so far. I do admire what the designers were able to do given what they were forced to work with. the old-school 715 cues really take the edge off of the original car's design. if it does go into production, I doubt it'll look this interesting.
  17. and a crewcab m715
  18. they also unveiled a hellcat powered wrangler:
  19. well, if you're into IFS/IRS that is.
  20. pretty much random. there are so many great trucks that we just sort of pick one and run with it.
  21. :( so sad :( he was an awesome guy. I was lucky enough to be able to tag along on a couple of his crazy MJ adventures. good times :D he will be missed :(
  22. putting the springs on top gives about 5-6 inches of lift. how much lift is up front? did he move the perches on the XJ axle? XJs and MJs have their perches in different widths apart.
  23. dang. if there's no edge, then that plan won't work. :( is it too late for the grease trick? not sure where you drilled the holes. as long as the fit of the device you're hammering in is tight enough, the hydraulic force should be able to dislodge it.
  24. have you tried a pilot bushing puller?
  25. have you done the relay upgrade yet?
