love the truck! that is just beautiful. but very few people peruse the registration threads. you should start yourself a build thread to share what all you've done and start tech threads for your questions. that'll ensure the most eyeballs see them and your Qs can get answered.

this time the "comanche club" was removed and he used the truck. he also admitted to copy/pasting another person's art too and put to two together for his own decal. the facebook thread was deleted so unfortunately I can't share. should have screen shot it. but he did send me a FB message I haven't yet responded to. I'm a fairly happy-go-lucky kind of guy, but it really irks me when they argue that it's now theirs because, well, they found it. draw your own freaking images! how hard is that? I'm not claiming that I designed an MJ, but when you have clearly just clicked a couple times and used what I spent days creating, then screw you.

and I use that term loosely as my drawings aren't actually copyrighted as such. as I understand it, I don't actually need to copyright a drawing I've done to have legal protections. anywho, yesterday I found another person that copy/pasted the logo from the internet and was hocking his cheesy decals. After I called him on it, I got the same "all I have to do is alter it a bit and it's no longer yours" argument. I have no intention of actually suing over it, but am curious what legal recourse I would theoretically have. There's got to be something that protects people's efforts against the copy/paste generation.

check out the good/bad/ugly post in the classifieds/not-your-stuff. one of our members is kind enough to peruse craigslist now and again and tally up various MJs for sale around the country. Don't hesitate to look outside your state. many of us have traveled for our MJs. and many of us are happy to help check out a truck near us that you might find.

just don't let it touch salt and you should have a nice driver there. it's almost 30 years old, so I would go through and replace a lot of the original rubber stuff (hoses, brake lines, etc) and oils right off the bat. And get yourself a hitch, don't trust the old sheetmetal bumpers. One of our members makes them (you'll find him in the vendors part of the classifieds). standard suggestions for buying a used truck apply, like bringing along a friend who will be critical of the truck, bring a fridge magnet to check for bondo, etc. I think there may even be a writeup/list in the DIY link in my sig. I vaguely remember that. if not, you should search for it and then let me know so I can put it in the DIY list.

the CJ version had 2-piece axles that liked to fail at the connections and that gives them a bad wrap. MJs have one-piece shafts.

welcome to the MJ addiction! outside the coils? all stock MJ shocks are located to the rear of the coils. the price seems a bit steep compared to what others have found, but it certainly looks solid and well cared for.

the 4.0 was always MPI. unless something aftermarket was added. the older 2.5s were TBI. nice truck! I'm loving the bed.

I've watched tons of how-to vids in the past decade and yours is very well done. I can see what you're doing, understand what you're saying, and follow along with the steps. bravo! the simple things always seem to be the hardest to master. looking forward to part 2.
