  1. sorry, but we don't yet have the software in place to auto-shrink the avatar pics. you'll need to shrink it via other means. I think the limit is 150x150 pixels. as to signatures, basic info about your truck is always a plus. year, engine, transmission, etc.
  2. what about this sort of thing? https://www.harborfreight.com/10-ft-x-17-ft-portable-garage-62860.html
  3. you mean my water bottle holder? honestly I never noticed that any KJs didn't have them. shows how much I pay attention.
  4. ya beat me! I got ripped off. mine were like 8 bucks per side (written up as "2 small brackets")
  5. wouldn't the o2 sensor come in to play if it was running rich due to another reason?
  6. do the relay swap for your headlights
  7. the 4.0 and 2.5 do not share transmission bolt patterns. the firewall of the 86 has been clearanced by some guys with a large hammer. plus some of the late year 86s have the newer firewall already. it's the upper radiator mount and hood latch locations that are the real pain to swap.
  8. oh, and I re-attacked the pinch seal in the front wheelwells. tires aren't getting chewed up anymore. I'm glad the rims came with crappy tires of the size I want since it has shown that I can't get new tires until after the lift is on.
  9. the next phase in bumper build has happened. swapped out the stubby winch mount for a wider one (should have done that from the start) and mounted the light bar on it. this is about as far as I can go without welding. I also swapped out some of the winch electrical hardware with stainless since the OE crap had already started rusting. oh, and I hit the grille with some satin black.

    scam or not...

whoops! sorry for the confusion. I got it through another seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dewalt-DCF899B-20v-MAX-XR-Brushless-1-2-Impact-Wrench-Detent-Bare/371918489119?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
  11. very nice! I love a chrome grille chrome mirrors exist too and you can snag chrome drip rails from an XJ and cut to size if you want to add a couple more bits of bling.
  12. the link in my sig has some writeups for 97+ swaps.

claims there are 1200 lb-ft of usefulness in it. I may or may not have already referred to it as mjolnir.

    scam or not...

guess what just arrived at the doorstep. holy crap is it strong! lug nuts (ones that are properly torqued and have antiseize) are nothing. but then I fully expected that. I cannot wait until the next junkyard trip. I'm going to just walk around removing random bolts to see what the limit is. bring on the rust!!!!
  15. I used to carry a bunch of crap in my wallet but over the years I kept buying thinner and lighter styles until I landed on the current fully-engineered-to-meet-the-minimum-requirements-of-holding-my-stuff-together edition: yes, I have the bikini of wallets. they only last a few months, but I've got a bag of them. I've whittled the contents down to license, health care cards, credit card, couple of bandaids and a comancheclub card. sometimes a bit of cash. anything else has a separate home at my desk and comes out only if I need it, or resides in my backpack that goes with me on any trip. but I realize other people have different lives that need different items. my father's wallet is at least an inch thick. ack.
  16. take my opinions with a grain of salt as I don't have much direct experience with the later stuff. hopefully one of the guys that does will see it and chime in.
  17. also read through the "most important tips" thread at the top of this forum.
  18. after fluids and rubber bits, I would do the electrical. Cruiser's renix tips are like the first link in the link in my signature. do them all. especially refreshing and adding grounds.
  19. rocker guards take very little steel to do. just find a local steel place and buy what fits your design. I went with 2x2 square for the guard, 1.5" round tube for the runners, and 3/16" plate to spread out the load at the frame. make it into what you want
  20. sure sounds like you've got the bases covered.
  21. yeah, I remember my first real damage. smashed both my rockers on a simple trail ride just about the time I was contemplating putting in rocker guards.
  22. it might help if you included the year of the truck and which drivetrain you have. you can put that info in your sig.
  23. there's a thread about how to chase down a short in the link in my sig.
