  1. come to think of it, I may have started one long ago. if anyone can find it.
  2. never actually made one for the 88. it was built long before we had the comancheclub.com website. being head of CC, I should probably do that one of these days.
  3. galvanized Uni-strut (?) channel. it's super overkill for bungie straps, but has plenty of holes for adjustability. The C02 tank, towbar, and fire extinguisher (which is rechargeable/refillable and I carry for cleaning off mud, not specifically for fires) are mounted using the uni-strut clamps meant for pipes. edit: found an old image of how I attached it:
  4. it is definitely a mod. I love mine! all my offroad gear and spare parts have a permanent waterproof secure storage.
  5. deal!
  6. I'm sure you'll get a ton of opinions on axles. for me, the front dana 30 will be fine, especially if it came from a 95 which will be non-CAD and should have the bigger Ujoints. I'd get an explorer 8.8 for the rear as tehy are very strong and have 4.10s and posi available stock. (there's a list online somewhere that shows which code on the explorer's door equals what rearend gear ratio). car-part.com can help with junkyard searches. an axle truss will go a long way toward piece of mind, but somehow I doubt the rig will be so heavy or will get jumped or the like to necessitate giant axles. what did the previous truck have?
  7. the link in my sig will have a couple threads on swapping around the various years of AW-4. don't regear a dana 35.
  8. even has the tow mirrors! Don't forget that you're adding a ton of weight to the truck and you might want to give some serious thought to deeper gears than the 3.55s.
  9. I do love a good bull bar I think mine came from a CJ.
  10. that's more or less a myth that arose because the pinion is slightly off center. I've not heard of anyone ever having any issues.
  11. have you added a ground to the fan wiring?
  12. fresh off the drawing board... of a 6 year old... kidding aside, I do hope there's a bit more bodywork and some paint in its future.
  13. the pic was sent out to newspapers in part of the early ad campaign. somehow I doubt they are the deer whistles you buy at the gas station. my guess is headlight sprayers. I've seen them on other european cars. (sometimes with tiny wipers too!)
  14. and I mean super-duper stock. Today's example of why originality is kinda nice is that someone asked me where the taillight harness is supposed to run on its way to the back and I can just walk out to my truck and snap a couple photos for him. now I just need to collect a bone-stock example of each and every possible model and drivetrain combination and I'll be all set.

research is your greatest ally. keep reading. Make sure you can recognize the difference between the 35 (has an oval cover) and 44 (more of a stop sign shape). The link in my sig has a ton of info, with Cruiser's MJ tips near the top. also this thread:
  16. both ways will look great. If I went for contrast it'd probably be boring ol' black.
  17. painting to match or painting to contrast?
  18. the little black things. headlight sprayers? It's an old image of a european MJ.
  19. that's a good choice I really like mine!
  20. yup, that's my perfect house right there. big garage with a tiny apartment upstairs.
  21. just stole it for the CC fb page main image. such a sharp looking rig!
