  1. a quality clear goes a long way toward preserving the paint.
  2. yeah, they are gone. they were lost long before the CC had the capability to store images.
  3. I don't remember reading that the REM can tweak anything but it certainly would allow you to instantly monitor any changes you're making by other means.
  4. is it in the registry?
  5. get it up on stands and put it in drive so you can walk around and further isolate the noise
  6. from my 89 brochure
  7. already done
  8. or maybe it never existed and was purely dealer ordered/installed. it doesn't have a part number. (at least not one I can find)
  9. what do you want out of the truck? what's the plan?
  10. is your cat bad? I mean, it has no impact on anything unless it's clogged up. The EGR also doesn't hurt anything as long as it's working ok. but I won't argue against removing it. the charcoal canister absorbs the fumes given off by the tank when it warms up and the gasses inside expand (and then the engine sucks the fumes out of the charcoal while it's running). the only truck I owned that came with the canister removed smelled like gasoline on hot/still days.
  11. a front axle with drum brakes? dang that's an old one.

any luck finding time to model the tailight fixes I suggested?
  13. be sure to snag the VIN somehow so we can see the build date.
  14. AX-15 will be aluminum. and whomever worked on it apparently screwed something up inside. maybe missed a retainer. no such thing as a 4spd AX-15.
  15. I do believe the 4th digit would be an M for a Metric Ton. the 4th digit is the GVWR.

  17. if you alter them in any way on a PC they should upload correctly. meaning you double bluffed it on the ones you rotated upside down because now it uploaded them correctly, but they were upside down.
  18. 8 nuts/bolts. those are easy. it's the other things that take the most time. in a junkyard I can pull a bed in under 20 minutes. but I can cut through anything that doesn't release easy.
  19. locked until someone provides some prices
  20. just once, I'd love to see a new pic of that truck. nothing but the same shots for years now.
  21. they changes a lot of things in 91, but kept the overall feel. in 97 they did a complete redesign. apparently right down to the grille dimensions. good to know.
  22. the 87-90 parts manual contains no mention of an MJ hitch. only a lightduty and a heavyduty for the XJ and a pintle hitch for the J series. leads me to believe that the hitch might have been like the sunroof.
  23. might have something to do with the MT altering the GVWR and that would be in the VIN. oddly enough, the 87-90 parts manual has a slightly different order of the VIN explanation.
