anyone got any new ideas or contacts at Jeep to track down any new data, or at least to confirm any of the numbers we've got already? ------------------------------------- cannot find where these numbers are originally from. listed by calendar year: 1985: 29,245 1986: 33,386 1987: 43,070 1988: 43,718 1989: 25,311 1990: 9,576 1991: 5,188 1992: 952 total: 190,446 --------------------------------------- these numbers I believe are from the Standard Catalog of American Light Duty Trucks? by model year: 1986: 45,219 1987: 28,417 1988: 46,389 1989: 28,891 1990: 10,804 (38.7% 4x4's) 1991: 7,009 (36.7% 4x4's) 1992: 2,970 (41.9% 4x4's) total: 169,699 ------------------------------------- (because why should those totals match and make our lives easier. ) and I have a copy of 1993's "Standard Catalog of 4x4s" which weirdly enough lists calendar year totals (skipping 1985 production entirely for some reason so the total is way off) but then lists 1992 as the model year and has the number 3142. I ordered a copy of the Standard Catalog of Jeeps to see what sort of craziness is inside it.

Axle Swap and Gearing Question
Pete M replied to ktmall07's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
far as I know the center section is the same across all 8.8s. axle shaft spline count shouldn't affect the ring/pinion at all. -
yeah, I'm deeply envious of guys just now coming into the hobby and the insane amount of information you've got at your finger tips. back in the late 90s the internet just wasn't what it is now.

Axle Swap and Gearing Question

stock auto 2.5s came with 4.56s and they had tiny tires. don't fear the rpms. embrace the power. -
not that I've ever seen.

dang! those are blinding!

funny thing about suspensions, they like to move around a bit.

is that soft brake line long enough?

well? -
it's looking like the viral load you start with matters a lot. which makes sense because if you had passing contact with someone infected at the store, your body has less to fight off then someone who spent 2 hours in a car with raging cougher.

now that's old school! -
the only reason my folks aren't getting a GC is the Durango comes with a bit more interior space. otherwise we'd have one too. wonderful tow rigs!

you can catch covid again after already having it, so I guess we're all screwed. or we can do the basics to lessen the chance of spreading it to our friends and family. it's all about mitigation. doing the basics that reduce the chances of the bad things happening. JMO you're going to see a lot of mixed responses because each decision is made by a different person or group that's making the choice based on their own needs at that time.

based on what I've seen in interviews with the people running hospitals, it has to do with eliminating workers who are unwilling to do the bare minimum to prevent bringing a highly contagious pathogen into a place where very sick people tend to be.

What else to take from 92 Cherokee?
Pete M replied to Jesse J's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There's so little in there that it won't matter. just don't get any in your face. -
we're all tired of it. I think all americans can come together and agree on that. but sometimes the world just sucks and you have to do sucky things to get through it without it sucking way more. at least this isn't the spanish flu where they had no vaccine and the world more or less had to go with masks/distancing and then... wait for people to stop dying everywhere, I guess. that had to suuuuck. I can't even contemplate living through WW1, then the flu, then the great depression. dang.

Axle Swap and Gearing Question

tough call. if I had the budget, I'd probably go with a selectable locker because I prefer an open rear diff for snow. there are other lockers to, electric and cable operated (at least I think they still exist). -
