uh, oh. I sure hope they bought more lenses than 20 of each (I'd honestly be shocked if that's all they made). but either way black trim are sold out on ebay and red are close.

everything. strip that puppy bare. if you end up not needing a part, you can throw it away after the truck is finished.

we don't have enough of them to pull a real determination, but they are all 87s which will most definitely pop up from the VIN.

no choice this time. they no longer put the towing wires into all R/Ts. BUT the new tow package comes with a built-in trailer controller so there's that.

5.7 with a tuned exhaust (sounds way cooler than the Citadel). couldn't convince my folks to splurge the extra 20 grand for the SRT.

after weeks of refreshing various Firefox tabs, fighting with insurance companies to actually get our check to the bank, and talking to sales people ad nausium, I found my folks a white R/T in Ohio that's close enough to fit the bill. the good news is that it's officially theirs. down payment has been sent. the bad news is that it's still "in transit". with no set day of arrival. based on other trucks I've watched go from "being built" to "in transit" to "on dealer lot", I'd say later this week. then we just gotta go fetch it. I'm both glad and disappointed that new trucks are being made and I no longer need to contemplate a trip to Sacramento or Montana. would have been a heck of a road trip! fun fact, if you live in GA and buy from OH, you get the incentives that are available in GA, not OH. worked out well for us and saved more cash than OH would have been. generic stock photo:

upsidedown pics are usually because of the way that some devices/softwares "remember" the correct orientation of the photo, but other devices have no idea what the little tag means. it happens. you can upgrade from a 3/4 cluster to a full cluster simply by swapping in an 87-90 full cluster. (guys with idiots light clusters will also need to swap out the oil pressure and water temp switches for the gauge-appropriate sending units) so all of Cruiser's MJ tips. they are mostly wiring related and cover a lot of the known common issues. the link in my sig should have his ink.

my AAL is just an MJ main leaf with the eyes cut off. I wanted full support of the main and this was the only way I could figure out how to do that.

technically already screwed this one up since I just now ordered some new convex mirrors for the KJ

gluing together headlights and tailights is fairly common (for light upgrades). I'd wager you'll find several methods at youtube random pics of the housing I have. trying to show what it's like with the lens removed. keep in mind the one reflector is missing.

I doubt anyone has to start from scratch either. you just need better searching skills than I to find previous inquiries and then cut/paste.

yup. the suspensions are essentially the same.

maybe not nearly as bad as Eagle's going to feel once he realizes he's inadvertently corrected him twice. happens to the best of us (on both accounts).

even with the steep-ish price, I do feel people will be happy with them. I look forward to the various how-to vids that I'm sure are coming (this housing came to me broken apart. my luck with using heat has not been stellar and so I've stopped trying.)

please ignore the missing reflector inside the disassembled housing. this was the only housing I have that has a perfectly clean mating surface for the new lens and I haven't yet stolen the reflector from one of my smashed housings. and as much as I want to show it lit up, that just isn't in the cards at the moment. but enough of that, here are my outside comparison shots. black trim is the NOS housing.
