based on the recent jump in values, I'd clean it up, keep up on maintenance, and start taking it to car shows as-is. but a bluetooth capable radio and a cupholder would be nice additions. 91-92 and 86-90 aren't all that different body/interior wise. literally any MJ build thread could have something for you.

when I lost mine it was due to corrosion in the connector for the rear harness. located behind the drivers rear tire.

possibly the only MJ ever to wear '86 stripes on a shortbed so much classic goodness!

03-07 Liberty 8.25 same wheel bolt pattern, disks, slightly wider, and super duper common in 'yards. only big downfall is that 99% of them will have 3.73 gears, which is rare in XJ/MJs dana 30s, but common in TJ/ZJs. don't forget to grab the ujoint flange and bolts while you're there.

make a list of all the other things you should do while in there. it is quite a project to yank the hvac and carpet. you're going to more or less gut the entire cab.

welding on perches is about as easy as welding gets. any repair or muffler shop or local shadetree mechanic can do it for ya.

yeah, always take them with a grain of salt. technically that said "20 gal" which is not an MJ size at all, but so far all I've been able to confirm that when it returns a 20, it's a 23. it's easy to check, as the 23 has 3 straps, while the 16 only has 2.
