    Up country is an XJ thing and was like a 1" lift. strip the donor truck bare and keep all the parts until you have fully assembled the new truck. then throw out the extra stuff. never know what little thing you might need after it snaps on you. if you've never messed with an hvac box before, be prepared for the insanity. it's crazy how they puzzled it all together.

    2nd from the top is an AAL. and your main leaf is VERY tired. it's not supposed to have negative arch like that.

    to the EGR itself? apply vacuum to the port on it. the valve should move.

    test and verify before replacing.

    which ones are unhooked? where do they lead? are you introducing a vacuum leak to make it run right? (or are you plugging the open holes in the manifold with your fingers?)

    where is the gas smell strongest? in the engine bay? or out the exhaust? have you accomplish all of Cruiser54's renix repairs yet? they mostly cover known wiring issues but lots of other stuff too. should be in the link in my signature. don't fire the parts cannon. test your sensors.

    always confirm the basics. even if it doesn't make any sense for them to be bad, check anyways just for piece of mind. glad it turned out to be something "easy".

    early metric tons are 4+1. later they changed to 3+2. \\ are the ends of the leafs all the same? or is one of them markedly different in shape or thickness at the tip?
