Dorman HELP! 76935 Gear Shift Knob and Bushing
-
Have clips, mounting screws and the back plate that goes behind the clips. Believe the full set I have is grey.

Penetrating oil at least a couple of hours in advance is most def your BFF on those things.

Thinking it was for a 2010 model but sorry cannot remember for sure. There will be some extra material in the bed but unless you buy a truck-specific cover there will be no way around that. For the price paid it was worth the slight mis-fitment there IMHO. The only information on the cover is the Block-It care tag. For the antenna just removed it, did not want to penetrate the cover the antenna location, but pretty sure I thought about it also.

If it ends up really needing a new steering box highly recommend these guys.... https://www.larescorp.com/ The unit I purchased for one of my Jeeps made a night and day difference. Also sold via RockAuto

Was extremely lucky. Did some looking around and measuring and my lifted MJ with a Liberty KJ lightbar on top fit under a Subaru Forrester factory cover very very nicely. It seemed pretty top of the line and I purchased it off eBay for I think around $50 shipped. The prior owner sold their car and did not need any longer. Even came with the original draw-string storage bag. Used it for over a year, have taken care of it and it looks to go another year or two easily.

^what Eagle said regarding cost. And remember the truck you are bringing to a shop is sorry "old". Unless they are experienced prepare for them to run into problems. Recommend to people often.. go to RockAuto.com... price all the part out and then double that price for installation at a minimum. One of my Jeep Liberty KJs was $1K for the ball joints (upper and lower ) (upper is new A arms ) and full alignment when owned by another family member that couldn't wait on my schedule to open up to do the work. Based on what you are talking about your MJ will also require a front alignment which, around me would be at least $80. Also... suggestion... Fill out your information in your profile so that your location and truck information is populated when you post. It will help. Good Luck.

"Wendy"- 88 Jeep Comanche Build

Looks Awesome! -
In theory, yes, the truck was designed that way but the garage is not the production line with a factory "parts bin" behind the line. Cannot swap tail-shafts. Things come to play quickly unless you have the donor sitting next to the truck and they are exactly the same (except being 4WD of course). Would you be comfortable dropping any one thing completely out of the truck spinning around three times and then putting it all back together? Things come into play quickly you make an attempt(s) to change things. Column shifted? Planning to go full console shift or just floor for transfer case? Can it be done? Yes. Has it been done? Yes. IMHO #1 Requirement. The Passion to work through the project ( or deep(er)) pockets than expected. You will be tested. And yes, I have done it.

Jeep Comanche for Snow Plowing

Do it right... http://www.daveysjeeps.com/repairables/R89mj.html -
In my experience, those pumps connect/lock WAY different. RENIX is a tabbed ring the 97+ XJ uses a very large threaded ring. Maybe I am mistaken but don't recall an adapter ever being mentioned before.

LOL That is sorta how my whole thing started. Had a kid where I coach in the evenings "lightly sideswipe" my driver's rear from the flare back.

I know a guy that has that armor plus the entire bedsides for a SWB that is currently For Sale. Already powder coated. Even has matching fronts. OH YEAH... me!

As DC indicated above the glass is most definitely curved. Have considered giving up the slider in mine it's all jacked up from the PO butchering the replacement of the center slider.

They fit just fine. Have them. But, IMHO, the vertical frame of the vent window is very distracting.

Making roll bar brackets
ScottJeep replied to krustyballer16's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Man those mounts look good. Great to start with something in such good shape. They are a TOTAL PITA to take off at the "local auto recycler". -
Congrats! Have to also agree with the bumper. When I saw the picture I paused for a moment and then said to myself "That's awesome. And I bet a winch could be hidden inside!"

Better cooling for the Comanche?
ScottJeep replied to johnj92131's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just to add information. My latest edition is a 06' KJ ( mom needed a new vehicle and I wasn't about to let her sell what I've maintained to someone else ... I digress ) and the rage with the 42RLE for the KJs and TJs is this unit. It's pricey ( to me ) but covers lots of bases.....Mount, Fan, hoses etc. Again... just what I've found lately. Registered with them about a year or so ago. The dipstick was the one question I submitted with my inquiry. For all the above reasons. -
