robfg67
It's taken a while (and a pile of cash), but I'm having a set of refurbished Turbine wheels and 31x10.5 x 15 BFG Ko2's mounted tomorrow. Should I go with white letters in or out? I know that these trucks with the higher end rims had the white letters out back in the day.
gogmorgo
Normally I’d say out, but the KO2’s don’t centre their lettres in the sidewall and it looks wrong to me.

Smokeyyank
I'm eventually getting to your point and white out is my plan. Think it will look good with turbines and the BFGs.

robfg67
Heading out the biggest (not many left in this area) pick & pull in Brockton, MA this morning. Love going to the JY. Keeping expectations low-impossible to find an MJ and close to impossible to find any 84-96 XJ's.
Pete M
if they truck has a retro theme, I feel like "out" would work. if not, I'd say "in" would be better. but I guess if the letters are in a weird place, than "in".
Ωhm
I live in the ‘land of curbs’ eventually all white lettering on the right side of the vehicle gets scuffed. Be careful if you do. Get some curb finders.
Pete M
maybe stop parking your cars via "feel".

robfg67
Kind of a bust at the junk yard today-no surprise. The new wheels were put on late this afternoon. I'll post pictures tomorrow.
oleskool
I vote out. I like the 80’s look on these truck though.
OldSch88L
My thoughts are white letters out for an old school truck or old school look, and only if you have a big enough sidewall. White letters on small sidewalls and big wheels is a no-no for me.

Pete M
a classic truck with a classic tire. very nice. do make sure you rotate those BFGs religiously. maybe even more than you think.

pizzaman09
I'm a white letters and white walls out type of guy, regardless of vehicle. Also, use a product called Bleche Wite to keep them clean.

Are the ko2s known for needing rotated a lot? it's not BFG that's to blame, but the soft rubber, tall blocks, and intricate pattern can go sideways fast if the alignment is a hair off or driving style or location put extra abuse on the tires. for example, here in the foothills of GA every tire will be sensitive to outside edge wear simply because there's no such thing as a straight line in our roads. tires here are also prone to what I call "eraser wear" due to the amount of braking we do downhill. (so named because I use a pencil eraser to describe to people what is happening. but essentially the individual rubber blocks flex backwards under braking and wear a feathered pattern into the edge and needs to be cross-rotated to be put into the opposite rear spot on the truck to balance it out.) Drahcir495
It depends on the look you’re going for. I like white letters out on smaller tires for a classic look-but I always have mine inside. Pinned down, I would say IN.
