I know any wheel lock can be overcome, but which ones do you think have the greatest deterrent value?

My next door neighbor just got the wheels stolen from their Corolla which was on the driveway!!!:fistshake1: Since I just put new tires with shiny wheels on my 88 I want a little more security.

Things are going to $h!t, the drivers window of my 89 was broken out last week, luckily the local yard had a Cherokee with a good window.

If they want them, they are going to get them.  Wheel locks will on (slightly) slow them down.  Invest in a cheap set from Amazon, and get security cameras and a hidden kill-switch.

That’s why I prefaced with “I know any wheel lock can be overcome.” I’m thinking of having all the nuts locks, if someone wants to remove 20 locks they really really want them.

@eaglescout526 do you have a PN for them? Thanks.

do 5 per rim, not just one. :D  and different styles too.  make them work for it.  :grinyes:

then do something so they can't just start the truck and drive away and fight the locks somewhere else.  :L:

Wouldn't it be 25%?   4 sets of wheel locks, 100 / 4 = 25?

Don't get the ones from the tire stores, they all use the same key, if you can find one with a ring on the outside that spins. They take a little longer to remove.

Here in New Orleans you'll see people put boots on their cars or trailers. A bit overkill but they seem to work.

<------------- Glad to live in a low crime area.  My MJ and WJ are  both sitting in my driveway with the keys in the cupholder and unlocked.  Not worried about someone stealing them unless they bring a tow truck or some jumper cables.  I just leave them sit till the battery is dead........

EMPLOYMENT TIME FOR ME:

I have NODS (Night Vision), and a suitable long range "intervention tool".

You pay room and board, and I guard your vehicle(s) at night as needed.

The current Mopar locks made by McGuard have an outer sleeve that is free spinning, so you can't just hammer a socket on it and spin it off. I would look at ones like that if it was me. I know as a tech, that sleeve made it a real pain to get it off without the key.
