Dammerung
Which trim levels for the Cherokee and Comanche had chrome door handles? I’ve seen the chome handles before, but they seem really rare. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jeep Driver
Yeah, pretty sure it was a Laredo/Wagoneer trim package with all the chrome.

FrankTheDog
Some XJ Country’s up to 96 had them.
eaglescout526
What’s weird is the salvage yard I frequent has several XJs with the chrome handles and they are still on the doors. Which reminds me I should see if they have metal ones.

Here in AZ, the nuts come off the studs on ALL the XJ handles no sweat. I would guess up in your area, the rust on the studs makes it problematic. Just a slight inkling of corrosion and they snap. It's a dissimilar metal thing I think.
Manche757
Any update here? Has anyone located NOS or after market chrome handles that fit MJs?
eaglescout526
No. No NOS at any dealer. There’s a couple XJs that I know have these handles I can pull.
Strokermjcomanche
Ive seen new ones pop up for around $90 before, don't see any currently available.i think I have some good used ones in the basement that are in good shape.
DesertRat1991
Anyone need these handles..? Couldn't get the rear driver door to open. Gonna have to bring a crow bar next time.
SatiricalHen
I have also found some that seem to be in good condition. I didn’t pull them as I didn’t know if anyone would want them and I don’t like having a heap of parts around. If there’s interest I can pull them next time in at that yard. Manche757
I sent Strokermjcomanche a pm on Sat but he has not responded. If I do not hear back by tomorrow, I am interested in what both of what you show for front handles. Pick and Pull only leaves vehicles on the lot about 3 weeks here before they crush them. Not sure how long they linger where each of you are.

This is a yard that is small and they keep things for at least a few months before they get gone, maybe moreSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hmmm maybe I should pull a set of two and paint them so I have metal handles. Hmmmm

eaglescout526
97-01 Handle 84-96 Handle The actuating rod is different. My guess is if you swapped out the latch assembly and the actuating rods you could essentially put older XJ/MJ handles on the newer XJ's.
