Was able to drill it out and found the housing to be in pretty bad shape so I’m waiting for a new one but luckily have an extra bolt. Also replaced the harmonic balancer since I was in there. The harmonic balancer looked like it was ready to be replaced.
Salvagedcircuit Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Added a tissue box holder. Cut down a standard sized 4.5" cube tissue box to about 1/3 of the original volume. Fits pretty nice and the tissues come out naturally with no fiddling. Uses standard sized 8.3in tissues. Winnner winner, chicken dinner.
Tex06 Posted May 8, 2025 Posted May 8, 2025 FINALLY! AFTER 10 YEARS..... NO MORE "MAINT REQD" LIGHT!!!!!

I believe it was set up so that light would come on at certain mileage intervals to remind you to take it to be serviced. But it's been a long time since I had a maintenance timer.

watchamakalit Posted May 11, 2025 Posted May 11, 2025 Pull the timer out. As far as I know without special equipment it can't be reset.
Salvagedcircuit Posted May 11, 2025 Posted May 11, 2025 I duplicated the screw plugs in the front trim pieces. The fit, finish and color are so close its crazy. The front caps are smaller than the rear ones. All the ones shown here are printed.
MancheKid86 Posted May 11, 2025 Posted May 11, 2025 Turned it on been a few years since i could do this 20250511_154653.mp4

What kind of build plate are you using for that surface finish?

I used a rough texture pei plate and printed the first layer slow for better texture. Thanks

Suppose they could always be painted. I have a smooth pei sheet on mine and the factory magnetic sheet that creality has that makes a little texture, but it's not as rough or close to original as yours.

Thanks I would definitely buy a set of medium blue hotcakes if you start producing these. You've got quite a portfolio of parts drawn up. You should totally start selling stuff.

I need to camp out at my local microcenter and see what color closely matches blue then stock up close colors. I've got gray interior parts and I'm going to try and match the major colors.

Pete M Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 drove over an hour to get to Breanne's MJ (it was soooo much easier when it was sitting in my driveway!) to change out the radiator (which will hopefully stop the overheating) and change the oil (because I was there anyways). also discovered that the front axle ujoint has given up , so that's next on the list (along with adding side-facing turn indicators and wiring in the new sensor so the efan can turn on)
Htchevyii Posted June 7, 2025 Posted June 7, 2025 Don't you hate it, when you're almost done with a job and it suddenly goes bad? I welded an inner and outer reinforcement on the steering box area of the frame. I got everything reinstalled and went to tighten the sway bar bolts (they also hold the steering brace). &+$#! One of the driver's side welded in nuts stripped out. Now to uninstall everything for better access. FYI, you can get to the inside of the frame on the passenger side from the front, but the driver's access is blocked by a reinforcement for the steering box. Pictures of both below. Luckily, the welded in nuts had enough meat that I was able to tap it and install a helicoil. Otherwise, I think you'd be to drill it and weld in a "weld nut" from below. At least it's done, I have the rest of the reinforcement plates to install at some point down the road, but the urgent part is done, (there were some cracks in the steering box area). Summer is here and adventures await.
jeff351 Posted June 8, 2025 Posted June 8, 2025 Routine PMCS (you military guys should remember that acronym!) on Scuzzy this evening. Took it on an uneventful 70 mile road trip today with humid temps in the 90s and the AC cranked up... now time for fluid checks and giving it a once-over with the torque wrench. The lower nut where the header connects to the down pipe likes to loosen up every 500 miles so that's one I need to figure out.

The exhaust pipe connection has always been a problem area for myself as well. It seemed like the angle of the aftermarket pipe might be a little of or it could have been my exhaust mount setup. I've recently revised it to make sure the pipe can move when the engine does. I've got a new BRE stainless pipe and it comes with FWD style bolts with springs. I need the get it installed and see how it works.
Bezerk1 Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Well it’s been a while since I was in the pub. Wasn’t doing much with my 88 Olympic edition but taking it to shows, but this weekend I got a 87 short bed and had a chrome bumper so switched it out with my standard one. Thought it would look nicer taking it up to Butler Jeep event next weekend. Anyone else going? Will take pics of the 87 and register it in here. Got to wait till rain stops here in northeast and get basic details
