Geonovast Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 You drove 85 mile to pick up something you hadn't seen a picture of? :hmm:
mvusse Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Drove 85 miles round trip for what I was assured was an AX5 out of a 90s XJ. Evidently he didn't know his a$$ from a hole in the ground. And then my blind back end didn't really look at it before I loaded it up into my truck. As soon as I opened the tailgate at home I saw "Borg Warner" cast into the case.
tj21 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Got this nice bench seat installed. Found at the jy with no tears.
Automan2164 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Please tell me you pulled the rest of the black interior pieces... VIN? Rob
Automan2164 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Your avatar gives me the creeps. So does yours. Rob
tj21 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Please tell me you pulled the rest of the black interior pieces... VIN? Rob I'm still learning what is rare, but will pull all the black I can this week. I have a black exterior '86 myself, and would like to replace the tan interior. VIN 1JTMU6416JT041663. I will post pictures on the VIN board soon.
mvusse Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 What's with people thinking black is rare? I have only ever owned two Comanches (actually, still have both), and both have factory black interior.
dakal Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 i don't know. i have no interior and can't think what color i want. black is to hot in the summer and white is to dirty looking. been stuck here a year thinking about it. :shake: :ack: :typing:
banshee Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 today nothing yesterday went to the badlands with several other jeeps, showed the onlookers how to wheel, later in a hole about 5' deep got stuck, seven inches deep inside the truck, first try 3 jeeps, resault two broken toestraps, second try one 4-wheeldrive tractor and fourty five feet of cable and i'm out, wife said "showing off don't pay" if you could have been there you might agree, I say "sure it dose" :brows: B...
MiNi Beast Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 installed new valve cover gasket, cap and wires, and took it for a cruise with the kids, said "dad can we take the doors off?" ok I said. was a decent day.
dakal Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 washed the winter green slime off the jeep. doesn't take long around here for the blessing to arrive.
MJRemi Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 I changed out the rear diff fluid with Super Tech Syn 75w90. I also trimmed down the Chevy drop shackles to fit the MJ frame but I won't know for sure until I remove the old ones. I trimmed the rubber to the same width as the bolt sleeve so hopefully that will be enough.
M2 CARBINE Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Went and bought some headliner fabric and go to work.
comanche12 Posted May 25, 2011 Posted May 25, 2011 Went to DMV... Struggle to get title. B/c I lost everything with title. So I gotta try get bond with title and state of IL :(
dasbulliwagen Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Recharged the AC again. After being charged last spring it was down to about 6 oz left. Must have a leak somewhere. I think I need a new H-block too, as the low side pressure was showing about 10 psi. I still have a ton of projects needing done on it, like building the trailer hitch, Herculining the bed, taking pics to update my build thread, installing my AX5 4wd trans and transfer case, doing the needed bodywork to prep for paint..... you know, all the "little" stuff.
MJRemi Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011  Had a driveline shop install the D44 Drop shackles U bolt yoke U joint Leaf bushings Spring perches Axle U bolts Synthetic fluid, etc.
comanche12 Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 fixed the rear right wheel wobble issue after did the DIY rear brake system for my 9" rear just grind on axle flange little more and replace new rotor. now wheel wobble issue is all gone!
MiNi Beast Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 wired up the heated seats and my buns are very pleased. also found me a nice topper.
shelbyluvv Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Fired up the Magnum in Betty! See the video in my build thread.
