I have always said that every young man should have to at least go through Basic Training. Retired USN, subs then tin cans, Vietnam vet, Desert Storm as a DoD civilian, Telecommunications. Where you heading for boot? Great Lakes? Enjoy and make the best of it. mfpdm Posted October 5, 2008 Share Posted October 5, 2008 24+ but fixing to retire. I am a Sonar Tech believe it or not, however it's not as fun as it was when the Russians were still playing. You'll get some good schools, but I'd look into the SeaBees as someone else mentioned earlier. If I had to do it over that's what I would have done. They get great training.
