  1. Steering box had a lot of play in it's input shaft so I replaced it with one out of the 89 XJ (same yaer as MJ) that had very insignificant play. No more wander/drifting on the road now. However, the ujoint is showing signs of wear on the end of the steering shaft. Does anyone have know how or what type of disconnect is on the upper end of the shaft and experience on removing one.
  2. Well what kind of truck you got and basicly whats wrong with it. Is it a Jeep Comanche? If so what year? Which engine, transmission, etc. Gotta have something to go on here. Kellena sounds like a female name, correct?

    What to do?

I had a 79 (I think) Warlock that I bought on the indian eservation for real cheap. . Sold it in 2001. It was factory lifted if I recall, plus cool decals here & there. Had a 2 bbl 318 in it. If I were in your shoes I'd trade the XJ & some other booty for it in a sec. With that step side bed it didn't haul a lot, but, that was never their intent .
  4. You won a date with the fat lady with the oxygen tank & in case she runs out air her skank daughter with the hair lip for a back up.
  5. Everyone with common sense moves out of Pullman :brows: There's a couple of MJ people over in Tri-cities though.

    Why all the Hate?

Dare to be different. Thats what life is all about. Thats where ideas, technical progress, innovation are born from. Thats where the majority of modifications you see on peeps vehichels on this forum originated. From something they saw on someone else's vehicle and adapted & modified to suit their personal ideals. 7. Find a 62 - 70 Gladiator for the grill. I think they were pretty much a direct bolt in for other SJ's into the late 70's & maybe beyond. I was gonna put one in my 78 J10,but, I gave the truck to my son who totally destroyed it. Yeah, and like everyhing else I passed on to him, the VW, the Chevy Luv with a 283, the 67 Mustang fastback. Yeah, I know I'm a slow learner. :dunno:
  8. Only if I'm packing a chute & 700' don't leave much time there either.

  10. That late 60's grill & headlights swap looks much more masculine than OEM 79. Nice truck.

  12. Looks neat & prof. . Hope you had the seat all the way forward when you measured. I didn't when I put one together so I had to take it apart and whack it some with the band saw so the wife could slide the seat up to reach the peddles.
  13. Your words are ever appropriate in honoring all Veterans around the world who have served their country in the time of need to preserve freedom. Our freedom is precious and worth the sacrifice that so many have made. :clapping:

    Club T-shirts?

Any dark color that will hide jeeper grease and mud stains. Most of my lighter shirts are now that color. That dark heather be alright.
  15. Count me out. I don' like um, have to squish down in the ol seat to see traffic lights.
  16. Yup, it's retardation syndrome. I do that now & then just to see what makes things tick. It can increase costs of your projects astronomicaly
  17. Don't assume what you see is always reality. He carries his extension mirrors in his hip pocket until needed I presume. :rotfl2:
  18. Under 103 un 1/4 MPH it probally won't be benefical in HP gain. :dunno:
  19. Depends! If its to flat land/beach/cross country RV spots a 2WD. If its to hilly/mt back country & off-road RV'ing I'd go with 4WD. Any SB extended cab or SUV, since there's 4 of U, would be more comfortable of course. If its one of the lighter camp trailers a 350/360 size engine would do the job and be more efficent in general (when your not towing) than a big ol 454 etc. For down the road tracking you can't be a 5th Wheeler. From experience I'v found the automatics of today, properly equipped with cooler, make it a much more pleasant trip towing anything, than with a stick shift. Some from the old school, & I was one of them, have stick shift inbred, but until you try it------. My fav all time tower was a 76 Jeep Cherokee 360/400 combo. That thing was like a cross bred mule-goat. Lock it up & it pulled trailers into and out of un-imaginable spots, especially in mud & snow situations. Right now I'm looking at buying a 99 Silverado ext cab 350 for towing a 24' camp trailer to Senior citz RV locals. It's an age related thing.
  20. Probally because they fill weld/buildup the old imperfections then put it on a lathe & resurface it back to orig spec. :dunno:
  21. Maybe its blow-by. Only oil leak I'v had on left side was from oil coming out breather tube where it & hose joined together. It would drip there and collect on the shield under the injectors & then eventually run down the side of manifold & engine. But that was good cause it meant less got blown all the way back to the air filter. :D
  22. Kind of similiar to a 1950's era Diamond T.
